Thank you so much for your time doing this video. Many years ago, more than 50!!! Our family were on a bus to Morecombe, there was a stop in Lancaster and so we had a little walk on Dalton Square and I remember my dad said that a bad doctor had lived there but only until now did i know the gruesome details. A lot of forward thinking by this man and very horrific. Very sad that those children became orphans, what a big change in their lives and to find out their dad killed their mum. Thanks again for your excellent narrative and effort in producing the video. Take care.

The same thing happened when Dr Harold Shipman was arrested - many of his patients and lots of his friends and family refused to believe he was capable of such crimes and thought that the Police had got It all wrong. It was only once the evidence was revealed that they slowly started to realise that he wasn't the person they thought he was. Fun fact........ Back in the day, it was apparently something of a tradition for young Constables who were undergoing their initial LanCon Equestrian Course to be given a 'bath' in Dr Ruxtons' tub - a sort of unofficial initiation ceremony, if you like, when those sort of things were regarded as harmless, character building high jinks....... and incredibly refreshing, especially in February! Happy days indeed!

There is also a guy called, Stephen Marshal, who they are calling the, "Jigsaw Killer". His crime was in 2009. So, clearly he isn't the original, "Jigsaw Killer". However, the details are eerily similar. The surgical precision dismemberment & removing the ears, eyes, mouth, tongue & the entire face. Allegedly, he was a hitman for the, "Atwood Crime Family". It very strange how similar these cases are on the methods used & details.

@@DarkFascination I saw the brilliant film The Changeling (Directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Angelina Jolie) and the true story is unbelievable and incredibly, incredibly tragic. That also should be a much more well known story to keep alive the memory of those involved/affected 😱. Not only the horrors of the child murders, but how the power of the Police and Society as a whole could resort to the enforced committal of a *completely innocent and sane* woman to an insane asylum purely because she would not be silenced that her son had been abducted/murdered (and worse, replaced by the Police with a boy that was not her son!). If you wrote a fictional book of what had actually happened it would be rejected by Publishers on the grounds of being too unbelievable/implausible … but it is all true/actually happened. The quality of the filming and story-telling by Clint Eastwood is absolutely stunning, and it must be one of the, if not the, most stunning performances by Jolie. I’ll look for the book also; but the story just from the film is so harrowing and traumatic, I don’t know that I could read it 💕 I’m so glad you mentioned it, Bernadette, because it is a story and a film that needs to be more widely known 😭 xxx

buck ruxton was my grandad and grandmas doctor, they said he was charming and a brilliant doctor, he was very well liked and respected around my home town of lancaster, the same cannot be said for his wife, who apparently was a very unpleasant woman, she had a very bad reputation around the town for having extra marital affairs, she made a fool of him!! and made him look foolish, people around lancaster were very much for him !! she drove him insane with jealousy!! it was well known around the city she had affairs then always played the victim!!

Hello Helen, thank you for sharing your family history there with me, I really sympathise with Buck, and feel your account matches a lot of what I am hearing now about him. He did go to far with what he did, however, I do feel he was driven to this extreme. People of Lancaster obviously liked him as they tried to save him and urge clemency to prevent his death, therefore once more, your account seems to be reliable. It is a shame that so much tragedy and loss has resulted from this case isn't it. Thanks so much for kindly sharing your experience I really do appreciate it.
