Thank you so much for your time doing this video. Many years ago, more than 50!!! Our family were on a bus to Morecombe, there was a stop in Lancaster and so we had a little walk on Dalton Square and I remember my dad said that a bad doctor had lived there but only until now did i know the gruesome details. A lot of forward thinking by this man and very horrific. Very sad that those children became orphans, what a big change in their lives and to find out their dad killed their mum. Thanks again for your excellent narrative and effort in producing the video. Take care.

The same thing happened when Dr Harold Shipman was arrested - many of his patients and lots of his friends and family refused to believe he was capable of such crimes and thought that the Police had got It all wrong. It was only once the evidence was revealed that they slowly started to realise that he wasn't the person they thought he was. Fun fact........ Back in the day, it was apparently something of a tradition for young Constables who were undergoing their initial LanCon Equestrian Course to be given a 'bath' in Dr Ruxtons' tub - a sort of unofficial initiation ceremony, if you like, when those sort of things were regarded as harmless, character building high jinks....... and incredibly refreshing, especially in February! Happy days indeed!

I remember many years ago, a navy friend of mine told me of this story, since his great uncle knew Ruxton personally, and when the story came out, it was met with such disbelief, and no one could take on board that Ruxton could have carried out this atrocity. Unfortunately, his great uncle died before the truth came to light. I hope that your showing the truth, gives his great uncle some peace.

There is also a guy called, Stephen Marshal, who they are calling the, "Jigsaw Killer". His crime was in 2009. So, clearly he isn't the original, "Jigsaw Killer". However, the details are eerily similar. The surgical precision dismemberment & removing the ears, eyes, mouth, tongue & the entire face. Allegedly, he was a hitman for the, "Atwood Crime Family". It very strange how similar these cases are on the methods used & details.

@@DarkFascination I saw the brilliant film The Changeling (Directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Angelina Jolie) and the true story is unbelievable and incredibly, incredibly tragic. That also should be a much more well known story to keep alive the memory of those involved/affected 😱. Not only the horrors of the child murders, but how the power of the Police and Society as a whole could resort to the enforced committal of a *completely innocent and sane* woman to an insane asylum purely because she would not be silenced that her son had been abducted/murdered (and worse, replaced by the Police with a boy that was not her son!). If you wrote a fictional book of what had actually happened it would be rejected by Publishers on the grounds of being too unbelievable/implausible … but it is all true/actually happened. The quality of the filming and story-telling by Clint Eastwood is absolutely stunning, and it must be one of the, if not the, most stunning performances by Jolie. I’ll look for the book also; but the story just from the film is so harrowing and traumatic, I don’t know that I could read it 💕 I’m so glad you mentioned it, Bernadette, because it is a story and a film that needs to be more widely known 😭 xxx

buck ruxton was my grandad and grandmas doctor, they said he was charming and a brilliant doctor, he was very well liked and respected around my home town of lancaster, the same cannot be said for his wife, who apparently was a very unpleasant woman, she had a very bad reputation around the town for having extra marital affairs, she made a fool of him!! and made him look foolish, people around lancaster were very much for him !! she drove him insane with jealousy!! it was well known around the city she had affairs then always played the victim!!

Hello Helen, thank you for sharing your family history there with me, I really sympathise with Buck, and feel your account matches a lot of what I am hearing now about him. He did go to far with what he did, however, I do feel he was driven to this extreme. People of Lancaster obviously liked him as they tried to save him and urge clemency to prevent his death, therefore once more, your account seems to be reliable. It is a shame that so much tragedy and loss has resulted from this case isn't it. Thanks so much for kindly sharing your experience I really do appreciate it.

Absolutely horrific! How anyone could commit mutilations like that on anyone, let alone a person he was supposed to love and another he knew well, I cannot imagine! I don't care if his wife was unfaithful or not, nobody deserves that and there can be no justification for it. A very good looking, intelligent man who killed 2 women and destroyed his own life in the process. What a fool and how very evil!

interesting about the confession note, he didn’t want people not knowing the truth in the event of his death? was this his compassionate side coming through? a gruesome crime nevertheless, well told again...👍

Hi pal, thanks very much for tuning in, yes, seemed he wanted people to know the truth perhaps? he obviously was very compassionate before all of this with the amount of help he gave people, which urged over 10000 signatures to help save him. Thanks so much for watching :)

@@DarkFascination Unfortunately not mate it was leveled to make way for the M60 motorway i remember that being lad down when i was three starting from The Geroge Tavern ( which is not technically Manchester road it's right next to Oldham police station) The Friend Ship Inn Golden Buck Royal Oak The Smut Inn The Bridge Water don't know what it was called but it's were 5 star blinds is Bowling Green Inn on t other side of road is Spinners Arms Waggon and Horses The Mowbray Arms Crown and Cushion Dutch Birds Inn church Inn The Royal Oak Bown Cow The Crawn and Kettle ( if you need a good drink now you were to get one they used say if you have one pint in all the pubs on Manchester road you'd be pissed out of your skull by the time you got to Oldham) I may not be a drinker but some of them do look inviting just can't get enough of the 18th century architecture I go down Manchester Road quite a lot and it's amazing when you looking at it on Google Street View how much of it you don't recognise and how much is so historic i do wish his pub was still there my grandmother remembers it but i wonder if she ever want in ill ask her there was so many people round her who don't know he do that as a part time job on one occasion he hung 18 people before lunchtime he was also at the Nuremberg Trials hanging the Nazi war criminals he also hunk the infamous William Joyce used to live in Glodwick for a time ( that was bomb in 1944 it looks like it's not been rebuilt ) And his mother lived in Shaw which is about 8 miles from me it's so amazing when you look into the history of your town don't we really do have so much history in Oldham and so many of the historic buildings are still up ill send you a photo of his pub on messenger) Looking at the building there was at least another four pubs on that road back in the hayday 🙀

@@DarkFascination Having talked to father he says there was at least four pubs from the police to the Friend Ship Inn that have been pulled down and the old saying is if you started on with a thimble full from Failsworth and gradually increased it in every pub I'm on Manchester Road going into Oldham by the time we got to the last one you would be unable to stand...
