2:12:30 The Baron seems to be at least bi and interested in Gabriel. And it's obvious enough without it being spelled out (especially with the story about King Ludwig II. in the background with Grace.) There is nothing wrong with Gabriel being straight. It still explores homosexuality by way of the baron. I'm GLAD this didn't turn into a roofies kind of situation because it very well could have. Or a situation where someone is at least drunk enough to be persuaded and then maybe regretting it in the morning. That would have been horrible. So I'm okay with that aspect. But I Paul puts it really well here: "he hands her over" is exactly what bugged me about that scene. She comes in, wraps herself around the baron like a python until he sics her onto Gabriel and tells her to "tuck him into bed". The way it is being portrayed is not sitting well with me. It's not like she's "promiscuous" (I do hate that word) which would be fine too. But she's a PROP without any agenda of her own (so far at least), almost like a weapon for the baron to use. "oh, you're having trouble falling asleep? Boy, do I have just the right medicine for that!" °opens a closet and takes the girl out° Or like the baron is handing over his leftover food to Gabriel. 🤢 I know it was a different time but... I mean, we've SEEN that it can and has been done better. Phantas2 did it!

I feel that althought the root for it could be different for each of us, I rly like how I could finish shadow warrior 3 in a day Heavenly bodies is rly chill and it's setup into stages/missions I would play one round of vampire survivers after work But then I have the dilema of if I actually like it I would want it to be as long as lets say assassin's Creed games 😅 So I guess I don't want to commit but when I do and I like it, it is ok for it to be long for me 🤔

You two playing together reminds me of when I'd hid a mall arcade with my best friend and play doubles. So many great pinball tables out there...we'd have our favorite in each mall. That and air hockey was our thing, especially when we'd get the puck to wobble, then deliberately try to smack it off the table and send it flying 20 feet away. (We only did this if we were alone. )

Don`t feel too bad if you`re taking advantage of "Load Scumming" from time to time after a crucial failed dice roll. I have to admit that I used it quite a bit whilst my playthrough. No one should get offended, as long as you only use it sparingly. I mean it's a long game and time's limited. But remember, failure is also an integral part of the experience. If your chances to succeed a dice roll are below 25% you probably shouldn't even push your luck. Make sure to check your inventory items' and clothes' stats before these rolls. You can always adjust your clothing/equipment to increase your chances. Have fun 🙂

It's kinda heartbreaking that the bonus and bribe money came in first thing in the morning after the son died. I know that's not planned or scripted in the game in any way, but it's the kind of great organic little stories that emerge from games like this. Love this game.

I think Arin got his self-determination in learning and doing new things on his own from dropping out of school. School is set up to make you reliant on approval from authority, and Arin dropping out would've helped avoid that dimming brainwashing school ills us with.

It was really cool seeing the concept images from Playdead's new game at the beginning of this, I'd never come across any of them before. I love the look and deep space is such a great setting for their type of game. Have you seen anything about Somerville, Paul? The two founders of Playdead split up shortly after Inside released and one bought the other out of the company. The one who left released Somerville last year, and it looks similar to the stuff Playdead did. I haven't played it though, so I have no idea if it's any good.
@ConversationsWithCurtis8 күн бұрын
My kids and I tried it but it didn't grab our attention the way INSIDE or LIMBO did. It clearly wasn't from the same mind as those two other games. That said, I don't think we gave it enough of a chance.
@MrPeddigrew18 күн бұрын
@@ConversationsWithCurtis That lines up a lot with the reviews I've read, honestly. It makes me wonder if Playdead's next game will suffer similarly with the team split up, or if enough key people stayed on to maintain that quality.

When you mentioned the save game crashed it reminded me of a glitch I experienced in one of the file cabinet hallways where I guess walking and scrolling the screen would randomly make the game crash, and that happened playing it on the original CD.

I'm glad you're liking this game Paul, I love it. I've shown it to a few people and it's always interesting to see how quickly they go from "That sounds tedious and boring" when I explain the premise to being completely sucked in once they start playing it. It's also interesting how many people call the game fun seeing as its pretty bleak and brutal a lot of the time. To the guy in the chat who asked if it ever gets boring: I don't think so, because most, if not every, new day brings a different set of rules and documents to work with. It keeps you from getting comfortable or in a routine and adds to how stressful and insane the game gets.
@ConversationsWithCurtis14 күн бұрын
100/% agree, @MrPeddigrew1. I was trying to explain the game to some friends the other night and that's the exact response I got. I kept saying "no, it's really good, I swear". You just need to play it to appreciate it.

I know “deep voice guy” we are internet friends and I can reach out on your behalf if you’d like, he gigs a lot as a musician. There is a lot of drama and mystery about this game. Because it was so successful it but it was essentially created by a Estonian communist art collective (who thanked Marx when they won game of the year). that has since splintered. And lost ownership of the game and company. There is a rather long and fascinating doc on this, you might want to watch after the game, and might even want to stream for commentary. But yes, the game was all text, but they upgraded the game with narration for free, because of their communist ideals.
