(I know Im just a guy commenting on a 6 year old race but) Man, I really dont think Luyendyk was trying to push Harlien off the ramp. Luyendyk was keeping it tight around the corner to not leave an opening for Harlien but I think the problem is that Luyendyk's drift didnt smooth out like normal which would have let him end up a bit wider and then straighten out for the jump. You can see from the back angle that Luyendyk's rear end catches grip early which sends in to the right (the angle his truck was facing at the time as he was still in a drift). That made it look like he was turning into Harlien to force him off the jump but again, i dont think that was the case. Front the front angle you can see that once his rear catches and sends him to the right he turns to the back to left (away from Harlien) just in time to barely catch the right side of the jump himself. Theres just no part of it from start of the corner to after the jump that looks like he was doing anything other than trying to make it through the corner and hit jump while under intense pressure from Harlien. The way Harlien drove it, it seems that he was expecting Luyendyk to go wider and make room for him on the ramp which is why he didnt just go wide and drive around the ramp, he realized too late that wasnt happening. As I mentioned I think Luyendyk fully intended to go waide and leave room but his rear tires caught and put him off course. This random guy declares it to be just an unfortunate race incident.

Sam getting worn out as the "grandpa", I hear lots of grandparents complain about looking after kids... I get it, but didn't they have kids themselves when younger? Surely they would know what to do, were they raising their own kids and after a couple of hours like I'VE HAD IT!! So you might argue they are older and less energy etc. But they weren't just playing with their kids the whole time as parents. I personally don't have kids and don't want that responsibility, but do like spending time with nieces/nephews and yeah can get worn out sometimes.. but that's the whole point, I'm not caring for them 24/7. So I'm just a little confused why others who have raised kids then complain when babysitting others, like if you can't handle one hour.. how did you handle the other 23 hours every day with your own kids?

DJ is a TRUE LEGEND of the sport, to be fair MS and RI were pretty damn good in their day too, DJ and PB, LP, JR etc they are the legends the sport was built on!!!!! The Phase 3 GTHO MUST have been a BEAST to race, handling/braking etc were ok but not great, a REAL mans car, even to drive one on the road, you MUST Man handle thing, NO power steering or servo brakes etc just a BIG hairy chested V8

Let's be truthful the most consistent drivers are both Roby Gordon and Matty Brabham. These two seem to a get to the front come the end of the race 🏁 awesome driving.

Writing this in late '22, it's a little odd to see someone driving a contemporary (at the time) Australian made performance car. Not least because it's a _manual_ ..! Times - and the car manufacturing industry in Straya - have changed. 🙄 P.S. Don't get me wrong - GM-H and Ford Australia, more or less *drove themselves* onto oblivion. Each had a product range that was (mostly) withering with redundancy for nearly a decade, prior to dropping dead entirely around 2016.
