It's kinda funny how the Ford Falcon is viewed in America as opposed to Australia. Here it was a compact car that was basically just a grocery getter with mostly straight 6 engines although the last versions(1967 I believe)had 289(4.7L)V-8s as an optional engine. Over in your land they were the muscle cars that all you guys got to enjoy for decades with the 351 Cleveland engines casts that you got in 1971. You guys got to keep the muscle car era going for decades while our country succumbed to the asshole environmentalists that literally tried to destroy the car industry in the U.S. It took us nearly 30 years to overcome these chicken little leftists that are still trying to shove this anti-car/global warming agenda down our throats. It's so bad here it makes me want to move to Australia cause you all seem to still be a great car cultured country. Go Ford!

I see some people aren't happy about the new formula for Supercars. But I whole heartily think that this a fantastic decision and breaths in more manufacturer interest. This opens the door, in my opinion, for Chevrolet, Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar and even the KIA Stinger. I am looking forward to this new era of V8s, V6s and I4s. It took me a while get behind the idea but it will be Supercars getting back in touch with it's roots of the 1960s to 1980s (race on Sunday, drive to work on Monday). Supercars is the greatest touring car series in the world and it will remain that way. So I ask the fans to embrace this change. It's going to be fantastic.

Not complaining V8 SCs is my favorite racing series of all motor sports and the drivers are REAL DRIVERS with no assistance like Antilock brakes and traction control. RMR: Real Men Racing. Crash the V8s Ford and the teams will have to flatten the tall bonnet and increase the height of the roof slope to fit the chassis anyway. It will be somewhat of a hybrid Mustang tbh but the differences will be very subtle.

It hasn't been Ford vs Holden since Supercars started in '93 (iirc), V8SC's have always tried to get parity, it's team vs team. Triple 8 pretty much proved as much when Ford stupidly cut their funding over their car colours, so 888 went to Holden and took their race wins with them...

The Australian car industry is dead. And now Australia’s own Motorsport is dying to. In a few years where only gonna see Mustangs and Cameros. It is essentially going to be NASCAR with right turns. The only faint hope we have now is that Holden brings back the Australian made performance commodore (it might be under a different name) and ford Australia brings back the Australian made Falcon. We only hope.

Supercars know that they have to look at alternatives cause Holden and Ford manufacturing have left Australia. I'm not a fan of the supercars car of the future 2 regulation. It's one type chassis with different body skins attached. It should be the entire car that is bought from the dealership modified with a roll-cage plus carbon fibre or similar weight saving metal safety cell for the protection of the driver. Any engine, drivetrain and body shape configuration allowed. Cars under $150k retail that are sold to the public are eligible. Teams can run what ever brand mechanical running gear they like but keep it parity so no one has a unfair advantage. Keep it a one brand control tyre formula but this brand should be changed every four years.

To fit the common chassis; it's going to be shorter and taller, essentially looking like it has been squeezed from both ends. Detracting from the overall image of the original car. But once you cover it in livery, it'll be hard to tell. Just look at the current cars- you have to peer closely now to tell them apart. Also, once they bring in the Camaro, they'll essentially look the same, just as the Commodore and Falcon already do. Worldwide, the V8 touring car is a dying breed- Japan (JGTC), Germany (DTM), have all watered down their great tourers into little turbo shitters. In the future, if you want to hear a V8 sing, your only choice will be Nascar... and who knows how long that will last.

Todays cars are smaller engines that rev high that drastically affects life of any engine! To get good amounts of torque you need massive horsepower! There great for performance but they dont last long!! Give me a pushrod v8 any day of the week! Plenty of power and torque, reliable and easy to fix!!

Because of V6's. But that still does not relate to me as a fan or a car buyer. Because i drive a four cylinder.

Electric racing would be the death of any interest from the majority. Have a look at how boring it is to watch formula e, I couldn’t think of anything less entertaining than that utter boredom. Future proofing requires combustion engines burning fuel whilst screaming it’s tits off, not the sound of a slot car.
