I have been an AHS fan since day 1. Once Jessica Lang was gone the show def took a turn but I was happy to see Lady Gaga who did a phenomenal job. Hotel is def one of my favorite seasons. However the show started to change after that and it’s definitely because the writers have taken on different projects, like the show 911. Can I be mad about 911? Heck no because the writing is phenomenal but this shows they can’t have it all and do it all. AHS was amazing during its time but with so many new shows being born, I think it’s time we say our goodbyes. It was really great while it lasted.

Princess Bride will NEVER be cringe

Here are my thoughts on the films you showed that I've seen 1) The Notebook, I only seen a bit of it & haven't gone back to finish, but what can I say I like chick flicks. It's not about the romance but about the drama of the story. I like human stories. 2) Labyrinth, I gotta say I love this film, I am a fan of David Bowie, I'm 42, so his music as well as artists like him were played frequently in my home by my parents & you tend to at least respect your parents music when you get older. But as I've gotten older I've actually grown to love it more as the adult aspects of the story make it more interesting. For example, Bowie is the stepfather who's with Sarah's actress mother and he's the villain trying to take her away. Things like that I love to see in it's subtlety. 3) The Princess Bride, Surprisingly I wasn't a fan as a kid, like the kid I was disgusted by the love stuff & couldn't get into it. As I got older I was able to look past it. The author actually made it so only the good parts of his book were adapted as there's a lot of filler material. 4) Twilight, speaking as an Anne Rice fan I hated the fact this series got films and Anne never did after the terrible Queen of the Damned adaptation. I watched this film just to give it a try and all I liked was the fight at the end. After trying to watch the sequel I couldn't do it. I have been meaning to watch the Wedding Planner as I do like films like it.

I prefer the first as well, the whole turning your place of safety into a death trap was non-existent in the sequel. And yeah the entire vibe was different, can't say I strongly dislike it just indifferent about it compared to the first. I can still watch them back-to-back tho.

I also own all the Twilight films and they’re cringed as hell but idk I just love the overall vibes it gives especially in terms of comfort/nostalgia The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Kid me loved this movie especially since it included the 3D glasses High School Musical. It’s very Disney’s Grease rip off Spider-Man: Far From Home. Easily the worst Spider-Man film and forced cringe humor dialed up to a 1000

Bold of you whipping out the cringe for the cam. Calling out Labyrinth; brave! Watch Robin Hood: Men in Tights, then rewatch The Princess Bride, it might go down easier. I’m still hyperventilating from your Twilight reveal. My cringe contribution: Date Movie.

I agree with you on both Labyrinth and Princess Bride just don't get the hype another is the resurgence of The Dark Crystal not a fan. I own Labyrinth (4K) and Dark Crystal (Blu ray) tried to change my opinion after all these years but nope. Saw Princess Bride again recently and for me flat line. As for Twilight saw the first 10 minutes and couldn't go on, but no shame. I like My Best Friends Wedding and Breakfast at Tiffany's which are in my collection as well as quite a few Shirley Temple films, we all have some off kilter films we enjoy 😎

Princess Bride is great. Going to have Inigo Montoya talk to you. Labyrinth I saw as an adult like you. Outside of some good Bowie songs I don’t get it. The rest I haven’t seen, and probably never will. My loss perhaps. You got me thinking has there been a movie titled “Cringe” yet? Challenge for your next video. Movies that have made you cry.

Personally i didn't like the first one just didn't do anything for me i preferred action & sci fi type films during the 90s i will definitely check out the new one it looks ok i may enjoy it's as i like a range of different movies these days although i think its quite late it being a sequel nearly 30 years or so later think it should have been sonner probably should have even been a remake or had a different title i feel with late sequels 20 or 30 Years later most people don't really care

The TCM is a good remake. Great trailer too. However I would not say that its the greatest remake ever. However, like you said this is the first Texas film you saw so just like others you have nostalgia which is absolutely understandable. For me the greatest remake is The Thing.

Regarding your closing comments about what is considered "scary", I was about 2 weeks shy of my seventeenth birthday in early 1991, when my big brother asked me if I wanted to go see a movie after school. It was called "The Silence of the Lambs", and I hadn't heard of it. So, the next day, right after my last class, my bro drove us three cities away to see the movie. When the end credits rolled, I remember sitting in my theater seat kind of dumbfounded by the tension-filled, intense film I had just watched. It wasn't scary in the stuff-jumping-out-of-places sense, but it was definitely creepy and uncomfortable, in the best way. I think "lurid" is a good way to describe the movie, and so is "depraved". That being said, "The Silence of the Lambs" is one of the "scariest" movies of all time to me, but in more of a psychological sense: it was scary to me because it traumatized me, not because it used any cheap "Gotcha!" tricks, like jump scares.

Longlegs is to Silence Of The Lambs/Seven as Identity was to Psycho. Both Identity and Longlegs have ridiculous plots but they make sense given it all and thematically work so you can put disbelief at the door… if that makes any sense. I will say after seeing it - I don’t knock people saying this movie is the greatest thing ever, but it also sets expectations unrealistically high for everyone else who goes to see it. And I have to say that’s how I felt here. When you see the same quote words a lot that means most likely people are referencing the same reviews. Like the “so dumb it’s not even scary” line that kept coming up. It’s a common thing you see in social media sadly - it’s easy to jump on a bandwagon than have your own thoughts. It’s also quite humorous to see people in this comment section coming after people who might want jumpscare or gore pron as their horror because they are dissing this movie. Isn’t everyone who likes this movie upset that people think this movie is dumb/slow/boring? Is that not a valid critique or is it just bad when people oversimplify things that go against what you think? Cause calling things like jumpscares and gore the reasons why people find it boring could also be oversimplifying here. It could very well just be not interesting to people or all that exciting - and I who liked the movie will even admit it’s pretty slow/monotonous/tedious. But it’s not a reason to give it a half star rating - which is overblown and why this video slaps. Anyways, it’s reverse attacks that’s counterproductive. A simple “agree to disagree” should be used more (to everyone reading). I like me some dumb fun schlock just so everyone is curious Anywho - enjoyed this a lot Nick! Can you do Andre Ovredals movies after this? Like Last Voyage Of The Demeter or something?

I've always loved 4. And I love 5 even MORE. But in 6, they began to seem intent on fixing something that wasn't broken. Michael Myers DOES NOT NEED affiliation. He makes no sense as muscle for a cult. Kind of reminds me of the sensation of watching the first Star Wars and seeing Darth Vader ordered around by Governor Tarkin.
