Hello. May i give you a tip please? My headset seized due to water getting into the headset stem and the fork tube was corroding too. I removed the handlebars and used a beer bottle cap with a dab of silicone sealant to plug it. I tapped it in with a socket just clear of the part where the handlebars fit.

WHERE the heck has this fine fella's Channel been my whole long life??!! 🙂old N. Italiano cyclist in SW FL, USA who's never hear/seen better advice!!! thank you...sub'd/liked! buona fortuna... ( ohhhh...how you make one feel embarrassed to start a ride, and looking at their machinery, compared to those in the video. shame-on-me! ) [ watched 3x's! haa ] { to the Presenter, thank you for speaking "legibly" for we non-British cyclists!! so many other's do not, and "worthless" for that, to me & ignored. As, likely, the zillions of other non-Brit-viewers world-wide. Sorry, but true 🙂 Please heed, sir, as I'd like to keep HEARING your great advice evermore! Gotta tell yas, though, the video/illustration-part of this channel is TERRIFIC! }

Finally, a pro mechanic showing tyre refit ending at the valve. The number of 'pro' mechanics doing it opposite to this is scary. The valve stops the beads dropping into the well of the rim, preventing the tyre from benefitting from a reduction in effective rim diameter.👍 Not sure on the dish tip. The diameter of the rim is the same on either side, surely? There may be more 'give' in longer spokes however...

The plate bending trick is brilliant. I've been going crazy trying to find the balance between hesitant (non) upshifting and throwing the chain right off the big ring on my decades old XT front mech. I just subscribed too!

I am currently changing the cables and covers of the brakes and derailleurs and the handlebars and tape. The channel is very interesting and the videos are recorded simply and to the point. I think I have finally found a worthy competitor for the manufacturer of blue bicycle tools. I am waiting for the next videos, especially for video number 15. Best regards and I wish you all the best!

I use the same techniques of 2mm allen key to set the gap, and steel rule to get alignment. It makes adjustment so much easier.

I've been a professional bicycle mechanic and worked inside the industry as a component designer for over 55 years. I have to say, Mr. Brockley, you just gave excellent & perfect instructions on how to set up front derailleurs. I will add a bit of very helpful advice and that is to add a drop or two of oil on the derailleur frame and cable clamp bolts. Why? Because you'll be loosening and tightening these bolts quite a bit and it makes it easier to fine tune the adjustments.

Shimano are the ONLY manufacturer I’ve had that I’ve had broken teeth on the chainrings. Apart from that I’ve used Campag always and never had that problem. Campag wears IN Shimano wears OUT.

Brilliant... many thanks. I have found correct front derailleur settings to be critically important when using wider range touring triples...to get a good shift up or down, everything has to be spot on. I wish I had seen your video ten years ago which would have prevented all the fits and starts of self-learning.

mines straight from the shop !
@bicycleguruАй бұрын
You should take it back to the shop and get them to sort it out. If it's new and it hasn't been set up properly that could cause skipping.... gears not indexed, loose cassette, bent hanger or B-screw being over tightened are some causes if it's a new bike.

Hi there, can you advise? I’ve just replaced my cassette, chain and rear derailleur. All Shimano 11 speed 105. But mainly on the large chain ring and under pressure/incline, the chain jumps quite badly. I’ve been told the teeth maybe warn on the large ring.
