Thank you so much for offering help to calculate My height is 71 cm Weight 157 lbs and I am 44 years old I walk 30 mins for 3 days at a heart rate in 130s and I started lifting 2 weeks ago approximately twice a week In addition my job requires me to walk around 5000 steps a day at the least (I am trying to imply that I am not sedentary) I feel my best at 140-145 lbs but more than weight loss I want fat loss, energy and muscle definition I have a VERY hard time calculating my BMR, my deficit and daily calories as I eat a home made Pakistani-Indian diet and I cook for four people

Looking at this, my calculation is between 2000 and 2100 calories for your maintenance. With 150g protein, 200g carbs, 66g fat. (These macros are based on basic percentages) But this can differ depending on hormonal imbalance, metabolic health, thyroid levels, and where you are actually at in life. So take that number as a baseline and then adjust based on how it feels. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you for your answer! They say it's a hormonal thing, but they don't say what to do about it. Do you think it's about insulin only? Thank you

@@danielastoica3354 hormones do make it worse but having the well rounded nutrient dense diet helps through the hormones. I know there is a lot of talk about insulin these days but unless you have a sensitivity or resistance it not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. Like having fruit at night is going to help limit that craving and it’s so healthy for you, but it may spike your glucose more than a candy bar 🤷‍♂️ doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat it.

@bradleyhealth
@bradleyhealth 3 күн бұрын
A couple things that I teach to avoid this 1. Make sure you are eating enough food earlier in the day so that you feel fuller longer. Or you could need the opposite - make sure you eat enough at dinner to hold you through the night. 2. Stress, anxiety and boredom are huge drivers of sweet snacking at night. Limit those, and you will have a much easier time

Mindy Pelz I’m sure would beg to differ regarding fasting, she’s an expert in menopause. Many menopausal women are fasting and don’t need to snack late at night - I just don’t know what you’re talking about! Fasting is easy if you train yourself to do it, i.e. if you don’t eat carbs for a couple of days prior, and start with small fasts. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions that it’s inevitable if you skip breakfast, you will gorge yourself at night - I just find this so bizarre! Low carb eating and fasting have really improved my health as a peri menopausal/menopausal woman. I’m no longer overweight or pre diabetic, I have reversed symptoms of PCOS. I am not always very strict, and am not always low carb, but if I gain a little weight, I reduce the carbs again and I fast sometimes, but only on appropriate days in my menstrual cycle. Your insistence on breakfast and not fasting ignores our ancestral design of fasting/feasting and the well studied and proven healing benefits of fasting for a myriad of illnesses from mild to serious. You speak like fasting is a fad, when the healing benefits are undeniable and it has been practiced forever. Three square meals a day is the fad, surely! We weren’t doing that for millennia! I’m sorry about your mother’s diagnosis, which is devastating and heartbreaking. But that also brings to mind how studies have shown that dementia is “diabetes type 3” at least I’ve heard this repeatedly - and of course the best proven diet for diabetes is….low carb!! I agree with you about varying the exercise types, you’ve got to surprise your body, but I also believe that goes for feeding it - mix it up! Also, the circadian clock is important, and if you get up in the dark and break your fast you’re working against that, right? I agree with you about protein, we don’t get enough and it’s a tricky one. I don’t normally comment on videos but your video came up as a suggestion for me, I guess because I’m your target audience- but because I have been reading books and listening to a lot of podcasts for some time on this stuff, a lot of what you said goes against both what I’ve learned and what I’ve experienced and I was taken aback by some of it. Anyway, that’s my two cents. I hope you aren’t offended and can understand my point of view, and I wish you luck in your enterprise.
@bradleyhealth
@bradleyhealth Ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience. And clarifying that you don’t want to offend me because most people do 😆 I’m glad this has all been great for you and I don’t necessarily disagree that it works for people. But that’s just the issue with different diets and ways of eating is that everyone has a different experience that may or may not work for them. I could also find a study showing literally any diet working it just depends on what you are looking for. I coach like this because it is, in my opinion and *experience*, the best way to approach fat loss and health long term. Mainly because I don’t have my clients cut things out and restrict themselves - but I teach them how everything affects their body, how to eat for them, and how to keep the weight off without ever having to do anything like a diet again. It just turns into their new lifestyle. If it really gets down to the nitty gritty of it and the client I have needs low carb or fasting I’ll happily prescribe it. To say I am making assumptions, and that any specific way of dieting is THE best way - is just wrong. I read the studies, I understand everything you brought up, I understand the nuance from person to person. I’m super happy fasting and low carb works for you 🙌 all I want is for the world to fight back against obesity and disease - however that gets done.

Yea it’s gonna work. Your metabolism is still in good shape I’m assuming and the fasting just creates a calorie deficit daily. Most people that do fast like that gain the weight back unfortunately

I first thought “what’s this kid know about women who are over 40,” but his points are solid! I’ve been reading and listening to a ton of podcasts on this subject, and this is great info! 🎉 1. Do more weight workouts!2-3x a week at least. 2. Add more protein. 100-120 a day at least. 3. Too low calories for too long lead to your body becoming more efficient. Increase QUALITY calories (especially protein) . Steer away from processed foods. Whole Foods better. & I would add….support your liver! Lemon in the morning. Dandelion tea. TUDCA. Milk thistle. Find lots of videos on supporting your liver. Dude has good info! 👍🏽

when you start talking about blood glucose/insulin response to what you ingest along with Insulin Resistance and the science behind weight loss I might be more inclined to listen. This is the science. To start, see Ben Bikman: Why We Get Sick.
@bradleyhealth
@bradleyhealth 2 ай бұрын
I will check out Bikman, I like to look at all sides. Insulin response is science yes. Insulin is a hormone that gets released anytime we eat anything - yes carbs and sugars promote more of it - but when it comes to fat and fat loss insulin is just a mechanism. It doesn't paint the whole picture. Everything I talk about is also backed by science, I just don't talk about the science because the average person doesn't care about it - they just want to lose fat and I make that happen with these exact principles for all of my clients.

These foods help boost your testosterone naturally! How? Here’s the deets: Eggs - protein helps stabilize testosterone levels as well as the fat in the yolk. Fat is essential for hormone regulation. The micros in eggs like choline and omega 3s are also amazing for testosterone and hormone production. Banana - Bananas contain an enzyme called bromelain which is known to help boost testosterone levels. Bananas are also excellent for maintaining energy levels and reducing antioxidants Grass Fed Beef - again with the protein and fat Avocado - again another healthy fat with many micronutrient benefits Honey - Honey contains boron which is a natural mineral which can be found in both food and in the environment. It is associated with helping to increase testosterone levels and is also useful for building strong bones and for building muscle Garlic - Garlic contains a compound called allicin which can be useful for lowering your cortisol levels. Cortisol is produced in the adrenal gland, which is where testosterone is produced. Follow for more!

You want to lose fat fast right? Well bad news and good news… it is possible. But “fast” may be subjective. The best way to lose belly fat is not the fastest. But the fastest is not a healthy way to approach fat loss and will leave you right back where you started if you aren’t careful. The absolute best way to lose fat is by building muscle, and here is why Building muscle gives you what you really want, which is a body you look at and think “damn I look good” And you will start noticing how good you look way faster this way than if you were to cut calories and do cardio. Building muscle also increases your metabolism making it easier to cut weight later on in the process. You won’t have to eat 1400 calories a day to lose fat. Not to mention the instant increase in body confidence and mental health from lifting weights! If you are sick and tired of hearing the “Move more, eat less” oversimplified garbage on your feed. Subscribe for sustainable weight loss advice.
