Go on you got me interested so liked and subscribed for more content. Love the classics my favourite all time car is the Mk1 escort. Last one i had was in the late 80s Mk1 1.3Gt Mexico so sorry i sold it on but it got the deposit i needed for my first house back in 93. Fantastic work keep up the Great Content. Didn't the Metro rally have a rover engine in them when they came out first i stand to be corrected as its such a long time ago lol

Great work John, glad the vents worked out well. That Escort shell looks incredible too, a lot of effort has gone into it to get it that nice. Thanks for showing your fabrication/thought process, it's what a lot of us have subscribed to see how you tackle the unique 'opportunities' this build presents!

Top notch work John, love to see it. Nice solution with the socket on the tube, Draper did a socket set called the Vortex that's a big help for that kind of job.

If it's possible, you might want to look into viability of fitting two factory style bonnet catch pins inside the front corners of the bonnet. I always remember the leading edge of glass fibre bonnet on my Mk3 Capri would lift over an inch on the front corners at not much above motorway speeds. That bonnet wasn't any lighter than stock, and had a factory style fibreglass inner frame, so it's not like it was some race thickness bare bonnet skin flexing about in front of me. I would have expected it to have a bit more rigidity than it displayed. I ended up fitting aftermarket bonnet pins on the front corners because I got seriously worried that all the flexing would eventually cause the leading edge lip to split, and allow the rest of the bonnet to fold up from the side of the factory pin to the hinge ! Having exposed bonnet pins sticking up through it wasn't really the look I was going for, but it was a better look than having two thirds of a shredded bonnet sitting on there, so I had to do it. Putting a pair of internal pins on the front corners would also probably free up a little extra headroom for the radiator. Oh, and that Escort shell looks........... Erm.......... Well.......... Erm........... I can't think of a word to convey how perfect it looks. The bodywork wouldn't have left the factory looking anything like that straight, and the paint finish is........erm .... Oh sh*t.... I'm running out of suitable words again....... "Flawless" doesn't quite seem to do it justice. :D I'm guessing the customer (or their tame mechanic) will be reassembling the car? If so, I think after teasing us with the shell, you need to ask the owner if they'd mind forwarding you some photos of it when it's completed (Making sure to ask permission to add them as a slideshow on one of your channels future videos). If they continue the build to the level you've set with the bodywork, it's going to be a showstopper !

Thanks. Yes the original cars had bonnet pins. Il be using bonnet pins of the original style plus a bonnet catch, so I’d say il be fine

Fantastic work as always. One of the best car series on KZbin, really enjoying watching. The idea for the rear wing mounts is pretty much what Fiat did for the rear lights of the mk2 Punto, you needed a key that was essentially a 13mm socket on a tube, so you now have some Italian flare added 😂
@pedenconceptz10 күн бұрын
Thanks, oh there could be some Italian flair in a later project

The Escort looks superb and some good GRP fabrication on the Metro. However I think you'll be into heat management issues in the engine bay of the Metro, so you may have created another job blanking off the vents in the tailgate.
@pedenconceptz14 күн бұрын
It shouldn’t be a problem. If you look in some of the earlier videos it might be clearer. But behind the bootlid is the interior. In a boxster the engine is under the floor, sealed off from the interior and it’s still the same here.

What A Machine that will be.....I just wish I could Binge watch it from Start to Finish.....but then "All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait" Love It,keep Up The Process, I'm sure this channel will blow up once some more people get to see it and spread the Word........take a bow my friend,Great Job
