The cow couldn't reach a food source I take it, not good for the cows digestive system. Whereas you are building a shed to live in, so you are on site when the house builds starts, another expat is doing similar. I can't remember their channel name but they have a walled plot, and in the right hand corner they have have built a bathroom adjoined to a luxury type nipa hut with verander which will be their temporary bedroom. It looks lovely and will be a guest house when the house is built. Your idea is very similar.

No the well is uphill the opposite direction from the shed Joel. We are planning to harvest rain water also of course after the actual house is built. We just need a temporary cheap septic for now. Hello from Panama. I completely agree with what you saying. Don’t piss off local people. Show respect and you get over time respected. My ex-girlfriend - Filipina - had a friend in the Philippines. I was always suspicious about her when we met in the Philippines. Why? We meet on weekends and go to restaurants. 2 “couples” always with this lady. But in the restaurants, the 2 couples sitting on the table beside us. Never with us. One Saturday evening, I asked the couples to join us at our large table. That’s when I saw the guns they had under their jackets. Last time I did go with my girlfriend’s friend out. My girlfriend never explained who this lady was. So I asked neighbors: “She is a money shark. Very dangerous. People have tried to kill her. She “owns the police” in town. So the 2 couples are police and go where she goes…” 😮 Same here in Panama. In the beginning I was invited by a family I know. A buddy in Canada was a son of the family. But they had friends from the “higher ranks” of the police around them. Only friends I was told. It honestly gave me a bad feeling about this again. Well. I know. Police officers have friends too. But since the time in the Philippines I get some bad vibes if “guns” are on a table. I was in the army for 4 years. So I’m use to guns. But not in restaurants. 😊
