I know this video is two years old, but recently I’ve gotten back into Zippos and I purchased a Zippo fuel canister. I got one not even three weeks ago and sure as shit, that damn ring broke. Haha. As I was pulling out my keys out my pocket the canister went one way and the tool, and extra flint, went into another dimension not ever be found again. I should’ve listened man. Amazon sent me another no charge and the first thing I did was replace that garbage ring.

That's why I will never buy those inserts not made in USA. I also worry that they are dangerous. That's why I stick with the good old fashioned insert made in the USA. Anyways I always preferred the regular zippo inserts over others. Having to hold down a button down for fire is far from my preference. Plus i dont like how very noisy jet flames are, regular inserts are more subtle, still windproof enough and no need to hold down a button or lever. Plus if broken (regular inserts granted i never had one fail me, i tried thunderbird jet flame insert and that one failed), i can just simply buy the components like wicks, flint, cotton, hinges etc unlike if one of those newer inserts failed then your likely to buy another new insert cuz you really cant take them apart by piece unlike the regs. Lol the only insert i bought thats an exception is the bit screwdrivers insert but i dont have to worry about that becoming hazardous if a mechanism fails. I'll take the little extra maintenance of the regular ones, besides for me its quite theraputic to change wick, flint and add more fuel.

It's because of the bad policies here in the states the current president administration calls "good", bidenomics. For me the best butane is clipper universal butane it works really well and lasts for a long time . U can get a 180 gram bottle that will last u a couple years for about £10 witch is like 12 dollars

I rearranged the cotton like you said but decided to keep the felt pad and add a strip of parchment paper over it instead to the sandwich bag, It just made sense to keep the felt pad and seal it even further. Hope the fuel last longer than just 2 or 3 days.

My question is whether a plain brass or chrome lighter is actually made from solid brass, or if they're made from a cheaper metal and then plated accordingly? I'd like to thing the cases are made of solid brass and then plated accordingly. If that's the case, is there a difference in the Walmart blister-pack version and the nicer boxed version? If they are not made from brass, what are the cases made from, and how can you tell which are solid brass and which are other? Always enjoy the Zippo Fanatic videos. Thanks!

Those are all very good. For the Zippo Light insert a quality LED chargeable light I believe would really sell. I think the Zippo case is as perfect for a flashlight as it is for a fuel insert. And I would love a 41 in copper as well as armor. For whatever reason my 41 brass lighter is the one I fill and use almost every time. An armor 41 would probably take first place with me. Also, as I post this you get 126 comments but only 99 likes. Why would someone watch this video and comment on it without giving a like at the same time? Any video should get more likes than comments.

I second the hinge change on the armor seems I have to tune it up every few months. A dual flame soft flame would be nice for lighting cigars also. Not sure if it's possible but on the soft flame instead of the button for lighting have a toggle type switch where you could push it to one side or something to keep gas flowing without having to hold it down.

Also, being a serious multiple daily cigar smoker, just about two years ago i picked up a truly dead mint 1958 Sterling Silver Slim, engine-turned with initial panel for $100 on Ebay. You can spend $1250 plus for a head turning Dupont or you can spend maybe $150 now for an elegant sterling silver piece of history that will also create great conversations at your local cigar lounge😊

I have purchased flip top lighters from a several different brands. Zippo lighters are the only ones that I have come across with the loose hinge issue. They need to stop using their shitty 80 year old hinge design and update it. A product I want to see is a modernized Zippo lighter with a beefed up hinge pin to prevent looseness.

Doubt they'll ever do a Slim butane. A '41 armor would be primo. The Slim is THE best Zippo for cigars. The regular size models' flame is too unwieldy for precision lighting. You can pull the wick down or cut it on regular size Zippos, but it's just easier to use a wonderful Slim with the wick even with top of chimney---correct flame size every time. I use a '59 insert in my '58 14k cause i like the looks better than the pinched original '58 insert. The bullshit about Zippo fluid tainting cigars is bunk. I think the butane lighter people pushed that story. I can't figure out Zippo company thinking at this point. I think too many irons in the fire.

Because zippo made a bit insert with screwdrivers, zippo should make a pill container insert so I can carry pills with style. Of course no fire cuz pills in gas is unhealthy so just a dedicated insert that holds and dispenses pills. Also if possible add a spark wheel to the pill container without contaminating the pills of course. I take medication daily and I think it would be awesome.

What I want from zippo is to be able to order an etch and paint. Also get rid of laser etching on venetians and engine turned models. I want them engraved.

I live in Europe and I have problem where the gas canister tube doesnt fit the butane opening hole. The canister tube is too big and the zippo hole is smaller, this causes the zippo to leak all over the place when i refil it. The zippo also didnt come with an o ring that usualy prevents leaks upon reffiling, any idea of how i might be able to solve this? Im using "royal" butane gas and i looked all over for zippo gas but i cant find it in my country. Also none of the caps that came with the canister work with the zippo. This is a standard zippo butane double torch. Thanks Help would be greatly appreciated
