technically that looks like a standard Virtus upper with a 5.5" rattler barrel. The Rattler upper receiver is shorter and there would actually be a gap between that very handguard and the rattler upper as a result. Your handugard is seamless with the upper so I imagine someone gutted it and put the rattler barrel in. But for all intents and purposes it's basically a rattler with a cooler tuckable handguard
@cgmeals11 ай бұрын
Bought this rifle brand new with the SD rail. It’s seamless because it was manufactured with this configuration in mind. They even sell a faux suppressor threaded on the barrel to occupy space in the rail if you don’t have a suppressor.

Y’all really get on here and just say anything

@@Blvckfvlcon hahhahaha I have a rattler, and there's no rattler in the world that fits an SD handguard unless it was fitted with the larger virtus upper.
@TylerFrogley11 ай бұрын
@@cgmeals they do sell a faux suppressor threaded on the canebrake model. Maybe this was an earlier SKU, but to my knowledge there has been no rattler upper that fits nicely with the current production SD rails without getting an Extension for a gap because the 5.5" .300blk barrel has a shorter gas block. The rattler upper is proprietary and uses a proprietary barrel assembly (shorter gas block and shorter piston) and the op rod on the carrier is shorter as well. I imagine whoever you bought it from called it a rattler even though it's more like the LVAW with a 6.75" barrel with the SD handguard. the metal plate doesn't state rattler either on it but again which is another indication it's not the shorter rattler upper receiver, maybe this was earlier on when production parts were different.
@jasonsovereign475011 ай бұрын
@@TylerFrogley you can buy the Canebrake SD handguard separately although they are extremely hard to find now. The Canebrake is just a rattler with the SD handguard. Midwest Industries made one for the rattler also. I added the caenbrake handguard to my rattler when I got my can. its lines up perfectly and still has the cut out for the gas switch.

How do you manage the volume when you call? Do you start off low and get progressively louder until something comes out? How loud is too loud?
@cgmeals Жыл бұрын
I start off for a couple min fairly quiet in case there is something fairly close. Don’t want to scare it off. I progressively work my way up on volume. Some of these I was at full volume.
@cgmeals Жыл бұрын
I think if you’re in thicker cover and there is no wind, you wouldn’t want to call too loudly. If it’s wide open pasture and the wind is up, crank that volume and see what happens. Always start lower volume though. Like I said if there is something closer and you blair the call first thing, it’ll probably scare them out.
