The main difference between the two videos is, Elias turns his body to face the side wall in ding so he blocks Farag. However Asal faces the front wall allowing Farag access. I think Farag got frustrated with Asal because Asal made him work so hard throughout the entire match. At the end of the day, Asal was just too good.
@michaelplichart3224Ай бұрын
Personally I think that Farag is one of the fairest players there is in the world of squash. I've never seen him get angry and you can see that even with Diego Elias in the video, he doesn't get angry. It's not the same situation with Asal where he is truly exasperated! He who almost never gets angry, so I suppose there was a good reason! In addition, Asal is his compatriot and therefore they undoubtedly know each other very well both as a player and as a professional, they undoubtedly often play together and must generally respect each other. And yet again, he accepts Diego Elias' reaction more than that of his compatriot Asal. I think there is no smoke without fire. I really like Asal but I think he makes bad moves and they don't compare to those of Diego Elias.
@ss-it7ibАй бұрын
What a ridiculous statement. You obviously haven't been following squash much if u say that ali never gets angry 😅. He's not gonna get not as much joy from the refs anymore and this is why he's getting more and more frustrated.
@Sam-pr8gbАй бұрын
As a fan of Asal, I would say that both movements are pretty much exactly the same. Technically I think they should both move to their left slightly more after hitting the ball, instead of moving forwards towards the T after hitting the ball, to give Farag better access to the ball. However, Farag has hit a loose shot in both instances and Elias/Asal's momentum after hitting their shot will also take them forward. I think it's telling that when Elias does it, it is referred to as a 'shut out' (which tall players do and the commentators refer to it as such), however when Asal does the same thing he is considered to be blocking. I think it happens a lot with Asal, where technically he could have cleared or done something slightly better, but that happens with every player and people's biases against him means that they pick up on it much more when he does it. If you want to have players who hit the ball harder and play more exciting and attacking squash, you are bound to have more contact and decisions as the movement and shot selection involved in that type of squash will lead to more contact than someone who just plays tight attritional squash at the back of the court (like Coll and Farag).
@dotpolka2863Ай бұрын
I've been a hater of Asal's lack of sportsmanship for a long time, but he has really turned things around. There's nothing wrong with what he did here, the shot was just too good for even Farag to get. Elias could be considered to be blocking, but it's also possible he was expecting Farag to go behind and Farag just chose the wrong line. It's impossible for a player to know for sure which way their opponent will go.
@antoineneron990Ай бұрын
Before looking at it in slow motion, I did not feel like Asal had done anything wrong, but upon closer inspection, there might be something to Farag's sense of injustice at the referee's call. If you zoom in at 1:06 at Asal's left foot, it kicks Farag's right heel. The reflection makes it hard to see, but if you look closely, Farag's heel definetly swings from the contact. It is subtle, but Asal's right foot unmistakebly arches and points, rather unnaturally, at and after the point of collision. This is not necessarily intentional, but would explain Farag's reaction, and definetly affect his concentration.
@johnemarsh1Ай бұрын
It is definitely intentional. It’s subtle but you can clearly see Asal having a kick at Farag’s ankles with both feet. That’s why Farag stopped. (It was also a great shot from Asal, but that doesn’t excuse the cheating)

I saw nothing wrong in what Asak did. However, Farag had a case against Elias who blocked him.
@shavesandmassagesАй бұрын
To me looks like Farag anticipated forward - the wrong way as the shot was powerful - and was never gonna reach the ball. A let would be rather kind as Elias is pretty far from the ball.

People are so quick to find fault in Asal instead of other players. It's plain prejudice.
@larsmartens5258Ай бұрын
Prejudice? You are forgetting about the hand grabbing, the intentional blocks, the dangerous plays, the ruptured eardrum of Lucas Serme, the disrespectful celebrations, the faked injuries,.... Prejudice would mean that people have something against Asal without there being any objective reason to do so. But there is more than enough video evidence of Asal actually doing things against the rules of the game. Therefore that a big part of the squash community doesn't like Asal has nothing to do with prejudice. They just don't like cheating. Here if it is all "just prejudice" how come video evidence like this exists? kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5LUoZ5olqafjbssi=nAoybSUQW-9_8hOc

I need 55 skill points in TM, so i can use Psycho-temporal Contraction. I don't really need the other abilities in TM yet.
