why would anyone drop 13000 plus dealer fees for this when you can get a lightly used 650 with similar power and much less chances something breaking ,for about 4k. That automatic shifting is an absolute deal breaker . maybe i would pick such a bike so i dont have to shift if i use for commuting (never really bothered me but eh) but thjat jerkiness? nope./ My advice to anyone is just get a 650 ,

i guess if you live like in NY it would make sense but here in Miami I would get ran over . even on the lower streets people are traveling at 55 mph . Also for teh money you are better off with a ninja 300 or 400 . you still going to get really good fuel milage and will be able to keep up with traffic

Ride modes on a 650? In a class of bike where price is critical but expect all the features of a premium motorcycle. Cruise too? Man, take a teaspoon of concrete after every meal. If you really have to have heated grips then you just have to ask the dealer. This bike has one of the great engines for it’s class and is able to be competitive with those in the class above. It has superb brakes, it’s nimble, rides well and that engine is both powerful with a linear power delivery with class leading smoothness and sounds beautiful. Despite being a humble naked it will even do well on a track. Looks great too.

This looks soo boreing. The engine is interesting but whoever designed this bike really phoned it in. I prefer the fast, sporty look of kawis. The design doesnt not compliment the engine. Major fail imho. And i heard it doesnt have a tachometer, is that true?

The 650 is quick tho. I went from 65 to 110 in about 1.5 seconds. The bike is quick. So you can still get a very big ticket. A dude I know said he got the 650 up to 127 MPH. I don't know if I believe him tho.

Took one out for test ride. Tbh I was very impressed and the e clutch was nice to use, didn’t get enough time to appreciate it for the hour I used it for. I wanted one but the colour I wanted was 3 months away and that was over summer, so I didn’t bite, shame as I really wanted one and had mad visions of de catting with cheapy Aliexpress race system….I’ve had them before and they are fine. I’m now looking at a CB1000 Hornet now as the pricing point is a no brainer versus this 650 even with e clutch. Nice review 👍

100% agree with you about cruise control. They couldn't have done cruise control without having a RBW throttle though and if they did RBW throttle then they could have also done better TC, ride modes, up and down QS (without E-clutch) etc and this would have been way more interesting to me than a big ugly box on the side of the engine that actuates the clutch for me. I love Honda but I really wonder what they are doing sometimes. Kinda ignoring their hardcore fans and focusing on beginners? I mean, the 650R isn't a beginner bike IMO. Even if you get the A2 restricted bike, it's still a big, heavy bike with a lot of torque and you probably should have ridden a 250 or something for a while before getting the 650R and if you have already ridden a 250 then you already know how to use a clutch. An absolute novice should not ride a 650R even if it has E-clutch. That's just my 2 cents though.

I have the 2022 model. TBH the E-clutch looks terrible from an aesthetics perspective. The functionality is fine but it just looks bad. If they could put it inside the engine casing without the huge lump then I might spec it but until then I would not. Currently Honda NZ are ONLY selling the E-clutch version of the CB650R in NZ which is nuts. I'm so glad I grabbed a brand new 2022 model for a discount.

After seeing all Japanese manufacturers adding some kind of automatic transmission option i am just wondering who was asking for this? There is many others things that could be improved on current bikes like suspension or brakes instead adding unnecessary complexity on top of thing that works already well.

@@manwithplan3735 I trust cycle world’s dyno of the 2023 model year which put it at 81.9 HP and 42.97 ft.lbs of torque.
@The.JZA.6 күн бұрын
@@emadreviews That is at the wheel, not the crank. Usually you lose about 15% of power through the transmission so 81.9/0.85=96.35hp which seems a little bit high but maybe they had particularly dense air on that day from weather etc? The bike is designed to be right on the limit of A2 compliance i.e. 70kw which is 93.8hp at the crank.

QS works only while you are moving; when stopped, you still have to hold in the clutch lever (or you’ll stall). This e-clutch takes care of your clutch lever completely.

No, I wouldn't buy it, I already have one 😁. The bags won't last long without modification, the suspension is great, wind protection is ok. The front tire almost never runs smoothly, there are better ones on the market. Great engine, gearbox average, but also ok. Price-performance ratio is hard to beat, I paid EUR 13,990 in Germany.

lmao, this was the funniest thing at the dealership tonight. after i bought the bike, we couldn't figure out how to turn it on, and it took 4 of us to figure it out. all you have to do is push the button in ONCE, then release it and then turn it to the right in the on position. You do NOT push it in, hold it in, and then turn it. it won't work that way. Once again for anyone who is confused as how to turn this bike on. You push it in once, release the k nob, and then turn it to the right. easy peasy. But now im kind of nervous because 35mph in 5th gear is crazy. my honda cbr 500r was cruising in 4th gear at 35mph.
