You are certainly a good driver, but to say that you are gaining ground in the wake of an F4, the driver in front is likely to be off with the handbrake on😂 You may be lighter, but you cannot compare your F1000 with a motorcycle engine to a car with a fiber chassis of carbon and a compressed turbo engine with over 150 hp. with excellent mechanics, a real Formila compared to yours and you can't compare your frame with his. Ok, maybe you were dreaming but don't make these comparisons, a driver racing in an FIA F4 Championship would definitely have pissed you off.

I can feel your tension. You need to relax. Use the full width of the track at Paddock. Get right over to the left before turning it and you'll get a slingshot up to Druids. You're turning in too early, hence the reason you keep running wide on the exit of Graham Hill. Also you're trying to put the power down too early, hence the massive oversteer on exit at Druids & Clearways. Smoother is faster. I'm not trying to be negative, but you make the same mistakes lap after lap. It doesn't sound intuitive, but slowing down will speed up your lap times. Good Luck.
@ChapmansCornerАй бұрын

Hey love your content!! Some advice I think would help, instead of getting onto the power slightly just before the apex, it may be better to rotate the car more towards the apex, and then get on the power more aggressively. So waiting just that tad bit longer. That way your car is more pointed for the straight, making it longer in theory and you’ll have more pedal pressed for acceleration. I think that would help your exits a lot more and it helps the car settle in a corner instead of getting understeer/oversteer on exit due to throttle application. The straighter you can make the corner in most cases, the more likely it is you’ll have less corrections on exit, and be able to gain more top speed on the straights. Hope this helps!!
@ChapmansCorner2 ай бұрын
@@sammoore3687 thanks Sam! Great advice. I was definitely losing out of slower corners. I think my braking is fairly strong but I don’t seem to get good drive out of some corners. I also can feel myself being hesitant on the power, not fully trusting the grip
@sammoore36872 ай бұрын
@ yeah braking is definitely your strong point!! You was catching the nitrous car in front in nearly every hard braking zone. And Yh I think just relaxing a little, getting that extra bit of rotation in to set the straight up will be a massive gain in the slow corners. And you’ll have more feel for the acceleration grip as the car won’t be sliding as much: less corrections will naturally make u more confident to get on the power as u won’t have to worry as much about snap oversteer on exit. Loving the content tho man, im saving up currently for one of these to hopefully join the grid next year!!

I’ve recently been looking to get into racing, and this seems like my best option as I really want to drive open wheel series. Would you recommend trying to find arrive and drive packages to start off with as I have no mechanics knowledge to do my own repairs and setups? Or is that something you have to hire in this series after buying a race car for yourself? I also don’t own a trailer so I think cad transport may be a problem too?
@ChapmansCorner2 ай бұрын
Hi Sam. F1000 is the best value for money with open wheel racing, although it is expensive! I did an arrive and drive test, then 2 A&D races before then buying my car. That way the car is fully prepared for you and you can just worry about driving and learning that. Once you’ve done an A&D, I can connect you with my team who does all my transport, prep and trackside support Message me on insta if you want to discuss
