Also, can you please tell me how do you get the sound so clean sounding… is it a sound card/ audio interface trick? I would truly appreciate your response.
@How2PlayMusic2 ай бұрын
Sure! I am using a Behringer X 32 digital mixer. But really in this case it is just an interface to my computer because I’m not adding any EQ or effects to the piano sound. It’s just raw from the keyboard.
@How2PlayMusic2 ай бұрын
Although, as far as the vocals go, I am adding some tasteful EQ as well as some reverb and a little delay from the X 32 before it hits the computer.
@Gavin_562 ай бұрын
@@How2PlayMusic I truly appreciate you responding.. so basically you're saying that this mixer has built in audio interface to do the compressing etc? Would you recommend me getting the focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface or this mixer that you are using? I'll be using it for live streaming, keyboard purposes etc.

Yes it is. It’s Yamaha’s flagship CFX Piano sample. Yamaha, in my opinion, always has the best piano sounds in keyboards.

You’re right. This was my first post and i had just thrown this out there. It was after I saw how many people responded that I realized the need to dig a little deeper in the videos. I’ve always intended to break down this song in the same detailed way as the ensuing videos. I apologize for the let down. Thank you the comment because it lets me know that I need to follow through and do an actual break down…especially that intro. 😊

Good video, but you teach many wrong notes (right hand). Don't try to say im wrong, you just don't know how to exactly play this solo. Fingers that you use is not optimal to play easy. i've been playing keyboards for 23 years and i hear what's correct notes

Hi Rob, great tutorial, tks a lot! I am having difficult in order to play on a keyboard. I mean: when I play on a piano keys is ok, but when I try on a keyboard keys, my fingers slides... Specially when I hit the black notes, then my fingers slips. Do have a tip for that?
@How2PlayMusic9 ай бұрын
I get it. I prefer weighted keys for all things piano related. That lighter touch on an unweighted key bed can feel different for sure. I would just encourage you to put some time in on the unweighted keys to get your muscle memory used to it. If you still can’t get accustomed to the feel you may have to spend a little more money and get a weighted key bed that you like the feel of. Not all weighted key beds are created equally so try a few out at a guitar center and see which ones you connect with.

@@How2PlayMusic tks a lot! I will practice just on a unweighted keys and try to adapt to it. Regards

I also try to keep it as close to the original, and in intro third chord is pure C#m, without "7". Also, the second chord in intro to my ears is E, with bass part on note G#, not G#m. I also don't hear that disonant E note in verse, in original.

Let me ask you this….would there be a way for you to demonstrate Mike’s background vocas in “Peg”? I mean, could you, would you play them out? Thanks
@How2PlayMusic9 ай бұрын
I’ll see what I can do. Those harmonies are amazing in Peg. I just saw an interview from Rick Beato with Michael McDonald and Michael was saying how those harmonies were so close together that he had to have them mute his previous parts so that he could concentrate on the next harmony that he added because of the dissonant intervals.
@Jerry-oo8hd9 ай бұрын
@@How2PlayMusic …yeah. Saw that. There’s a youtube link that isolates Mikes harmonies and even sitting at the piano listening to these, I jist cannot get them all. 🤷
