Hopefully Zenith gets your ZF-5 worked out, and it's unfortunately that they sent it out with a loose clip? I heard about Zenith jamming, stove piping and getting sent back, which shouldn't of never be happening. Hopefully they get it all straightened out for you. They need to do some quality control with their products a bit better.

Glad to hear that. These older designs like the MP5 and 1911’s can take a few hundred rounds to break in. They should work, with minimal issues or if the box. Once they run, they run well. Small springs/parts need upkeep every several thousand rounds. But NASA has an MP5 they put over half a million rounds through. Impressive I feel.

Was it the plastic holder on the buttstock that popped out, which connects it to the right side receiver? Years ago when I first bought mine, I was worried about the plastic/rubber cover over the charging handle area, and that clip on the buttstock. I don’t use mine much. But parts are hard to find now. I like the overall design, seeing as we could not get the actual Sig 550’s.

Very underrated stocks. They were popular with bench rest. When the folding stock came out, a lot of law enforcement officers were getting them. MKE has been making them for decades. This is a new Century Arms import (ordered it from Atlantic Firearms I believe). I had higher hopes as they fill foreign government contracts and use “hk tooling” but clearly some workers and quality control people were slacking in my opinion. I would not have let it out of the factory like that. Still have to shoot it against my Zenith.
@Mountain_ManАй бұрын
Good comparison. Interesting fact about the new HK SP5 and SP5K is the upper receivers are not made directly by an H&K facility they are made by a 3rd party company. Zenith purchased the presses, dies, and tooling from H&K and had H&K engineers come out and set everything up for Zenith.
@CAVCOPАй бұрын
I was disappointed with an MKE I bought. Years ago they had issues, and Zenith was their importer. I bought my Zenith over an MKE, then bought a Century MKE. I was not impressed with the sample I got. I did a video on it. I had higher hopes for MKE. HK is still the gold standard. But I was impressed with the USA Zenith, other than the magwell, which others have posted issues with too. Hopefully Zenith has figured it out by now.
@Mountain_ManАй бұрын
@@CAVCOP I have heard a lot about how bad the MKEs were when they were imported by zenith. That is why they bought all the equipment from H&K and started producing them instead of importing.

I have 3 of these. Given the quality of the steel & thickness of the blade, when sharpened up, they are a pretty good general purpose camping knife. The thick back is great for battoning wood. It’s works well processing deer as well.

The two I have were dull, but they do sharpen well. In my opinion it’s one of the better bayonets out there. I spent a number of years in the 7th Infantry Division at Ford Ord CA as a light fighter in the Bayonet Division, and learned the M9 bayonet sucks at about everything 🤣 The CETME and AK47 bayonets are functional. The CETME is probably best for jungle and woodland environments.

He had a few pics of the 3D printed magazines with no springs/followers. He said he would send me some to test. I told him if they worked I would help promote them for sale, just because no one makes the magazines, and the Mountain Eagle and Exactor are neat/fun pistols. If I get one I will test it and try to get the word out, as no one has magazines. I do have three, but they could break when I use them due to age. @CAVCOPАй бұрын
@@jarethgar what type of mount is it? Is it the two clamp picatinny rail? Or a single clamp that’s flat with holes on top? I am not a fan of using a two clamp longer rail on a P/K that is shorter (good on the longer MP5 types). I am on FB, X, and Truth Social (don’t go to them often though). If you post a picture I could tell you more. Interesting, Thanks for your time making the video. I have both the HK SP5 and SP5K along with a AP5. I'm happy with all of them zero issues after 1000's of rounds fired. I only use real HK mags in all of them and make sure the ammo has a more round nose profile, not to flat nose. Gold Dot Hp's function 100% in all three also. Funny thing gun to gun my AP5 has better welds than the HK SP5K. The HK SP5 is the best finished of all three. Love all three of mine won't sell any and am considering buying a AP5 P or M model soon.
@CAVCOPАй бұрын
I did have higher hopes for my MKE. Figured they have been making them for years. My Zenith has the best fit/finish in my opinion vs my HK PDW. As a Police Officer we only used Gold Dots for our MP5’s. Overall we used Gold Dots for duty loads, but shot cheaper ammo for training with our Glocks and AR’s, but the MP5’s were Gold Dot 124gr only. They worked great, for function and stopping power in real world.

One advantage the P220 has over the 1911 is that right out of the box you have a pistol that is perfectly matched for the SIG factory mags. Many 1911's will work great too but sometimes finding compatible mags is necessary for 100% reliability. There are just too many makers of both the pistol itself and various magazines to guarantee flawless function.
@CAVCOP2 ай бұрын
Absolutely. The 1911 used to require set magazine brands, with set ammo to function properly. The Sig could fire steel cases, hollow points, etc as many European pistols were designed for. Groups like the Navy SEALS and Law Enforcement went from revolvers to the Sigs, as there was no safety and it had a double action pull for under stress, or you could manually cock it. The 1911 required a lot more training and tuning. Though today 1911’s are better made as barrel designs and magazines/springs have improved. I do like the metal frame P series.

Ruger has made some of the best .22 pistol and rifles with the Mk and 10/22. Their revolvers are some of the most durable and reliable. Their semi auto center fires suck. Their bolt guns are ok. The Mini 14 was more reliable than the AR-15 until the mid 1990’s when the M4 was redesigned with better feed ramps, and specs along with improved magazines. I only own a LCP .380 Coyote special for semi autos, as Gov Perry shot a coyote out on a run with one (labeled for Texans only). Have a few Mk and 10/22 that were great. Sold my past Mini 14’s due to lack of features and accuracy, but the new barrels show better than Milspec M4 accuracy. S&W, Ruger, and H&K did some shady stuff for the civilian firearms sales, but still make good stuff in my opinion.
