So incredible! Really encapsulate just how high the tide is & the power of this storm at 4:02 That dead-end spot after Dane is where I'd always bring my dogs to go swimming (both unfortunately passed in a 5-month span Aug 22 & Jan 23). Since they're much bigger dogs (rottie & boxer) I couldn't bring them to Dane, so this was the perfect spot & they loved it, although I didn't since it's all rocks instead of sand lol. And going back to the late 80s early 90s as a kid, my old man & I would jump off that red pier w/our German Shepard. Some really amazing footage you got here!

Glad you enjoyed! It's sometimes hard to capture on video what it's really like. Sorry about your dogs. We had Sadie (Shepherd-Lab mix) for 16 years. We always would go down to Woodbury Beach so she could wade in the water. Lost her a year ago last May.

Thanks for the blend of Asticu and Japanese music! Little bit of a reminder of what it feels like there If only you could supply the sea breeze! Nice! I especially like the becalmed Somes Sound shots...after Asticu was that Wonderland? Have you been to the Asticu Ledges and Thuya Garden? The whole Land and Garden Trust area has the richest moss on the island, especially the Friends Trail and the Little Harbor Brook trail. Have you been to The Valley Trail? (near Beach Mountain trails, hanging rock formations with ferns, caves and impossible trees) or the Jessup Path behind Sieur de Monts Spring Nature Center (famous to photographers for the long grass birch field stretching to the Great Marsh), or the Hadlock Pond Trail? Did you know that the sand garden at Asticu reflects the view of the harbor islands from top of Cadillic Mtn? (as viewed from the sanctuary above the stream). someone needs to put Asticu to Japanese shakuhachi music the only appropriate soundtrack. Beatrix Farrand, the garden visionary who's plants they originally were, collected Buddhist statuary. She designed the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden and meditation sanctuary, also part of the Trust.

@@majormegapix at Wonderland I like the lichen covered pine trees that look like tinsel and very hard to photograph! The secret of the sand garden was told to me by one of the horticulturists with ledger recording the state of blossom of every plant, at that point 2 weeks early from historical but needing rain for the bees to come. Big rain did occur soon but she was concerned about the predicted potential for spot droughts on the Coastal peninsulas and islands.

I couldn't wait to see it. The exterior is beautiful and the grounds are lovely but the moment I saw the taxidermy it continued to go downhill from there. The bedroom set including the armoire and vanity in one of the bedrooms was exquisite, but I really didn't see anything I couldn't live without. That's a technique I developed over the years. I want people to see all the details as if they were able to be very close. I generally have a wide shot, possibly a medium-range, and then show an object close up. Oftentimes, those close-up details are left out/not shown in a tour venue.
