Hi! Thanks for your video, it helped me a lot for mapping my Akai APC Mini MKII ☺️ But I have a question… When I want to choose a color for layer 1 (for example) I don’t have the color list in the « velocity » menu… Do you have any answer for that ? 🙏🏻
@JHOVisualz10 күн бұрын
Hello mate!! Awesome glad to hear ti mon! Yeah so there's a few reasons this could be happenin' my first reaction would be have you got any other MIDI controllers plusgged in at the time? Having multiple MIDI controllers can affect the colour menu, but choosing a numbered value should still give you a colour output regardless, hope this helps bud! : D

How do you get all black and white clips? Is that so you can change the colors easily? Also trying to figure out how to convert free loops to resolume file format. Thanks!

Hello mate! If you wanna get all black and white clips, simply drop a colorize or a tint effect onto the composition tab, and you'll get everything workin' in B&W ; ) Ahhh I've got a video on free loops man , I reccomend giving it a watch and it'll teach you how on there ! : D

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your workflow 🙌 I'm wondering, what if you'll place every next clip on a layer of its own? Yes, you'll get a lot of layers - not optimal for a live show, but ok for recording a clip/timeline - you could set the transition for each clip as you like by setting it on its layer. This way plus perhaps recording the screen with OBS(?) could get the final clip right out of Resolume? Just an idea, I know the recording could have dropped frames etc, but still... perhaps good enough?

@@JHOVisualz Thanks for checking my channel out and glad you liked it. Got quite a lot of content planned for it this year, but struggling to make time due to work. Hahaha Donk! I wasn't much into that scene when it was popular around here, had plenty of mates who were into it though. That was a very colourful scene when it was at it's peak. For me, house music/breakbeat hardcore was more my thing. I was lucky enough to be able sneak into Burnley's Angels the last few years it was going (late 90s). It was old piano house which was played mainly down there. That was one hell of a club, and still one of the best places i've been to even after all these years. Anyway, i'm subbed to your channel and look forward to seeing you having a jam with your setups. Keep up the good work bud. Take care;)

Oh awesome, that setup you've got really is the OG visual setup hahaha!! Yeah it really is a pretty nifty and little useful controller for Resolume! I recently had my MK1 break on me, and had to purchase this MK2 for my setup because it's so fundemental for how I personally use Resolume !! The LPD8 should slot in really nicely with the setup you've already got there , and yeah it is probably my favourite controller fun wise, out of the 3 controllers mentioned : D Hope that you get on with it and have some fun using it pal !! : D

Just stumbled onto your channel, great selection of packs to start out and not too expensive, actually I don't mind shelling out a bit more usually but often get annoyed when on some platforms you can only buy whole packs and not individual clips (I'm looking at you resolume). When there's only one of two you like it's just kinda stupid.
@JHOVisualz5 ай бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the pack selection : D I would say if you want individual clips, then check out things such as Adobe Stock, or Motion Elements, but there is real value in buying them as a bundle as it gives you continuity right off the bat, if you have the real desire to build your own specific deck, then I'd say websites like these are your best bet for getting individual clips and building upwards, hope that helps! : )

Great video mate. Am I right in thinking you cannot use the Prime visual pack on DJ mixes on youtube as its only for live performances?
@kafkakos36185 ай бұрын
Yes I thought the same. Can you say record/use the Resolume footage as part of a live mix or jam on DAW and then put that to upload to KZbin or similar?
@JHOVisualz5 ай бұрын
So I think that you're okay ( Don't quote me on that ) But providing that you're remixing the visuals under fair use and not just ripping it you should be okay I would think, I would say a big thing to be mindful of is the need for 4K visuals; as KZbin compression is gunna shred through anything under that hahahaha : )

Thanks for this! I’m not even a Resolume user but good insight on mapping the APC with an alternate app.
@JHOVisualz5 ай бұрын
No worries, glad it was helpful for you to learn from! Yeah the mapping of this controller really does vary from software to software, I personally think that VJ's have one of the harder times using this controller, especially when comapared with things like Ableton, which it just works with beautifully; so as a VJ I had to get a bit creative to build something that works - one day, I pray for native support hahahahha

@JHOVisualz5 ай бұрын
I think you're okay ( don't quote me on that hahaha) but I don't see why it wouldn't be okay, so long as you're remixing the content and making something new out of it! : )
