Great choice of battery, I've just fitted the 15.5 in my van a couple of months ago so we have no LPG, hot water for showers, induction hobs and air fryer all on electric. 1220 watts of solar on the roof Scandinavia tour this winter so that will be the real test!

Your batteries could be out of balance. They suggest you connect them in parallel to balance them. It's not just the price, you need to express.
@LostInEurope
@LostInEurope 15 күн бұрын
I've tried to balance them by individually charging to 100% but eventually they fall out of sync again, according to the app anyway. I should have got the 24v versions really as would be better to run in parallel.

@sim6699 15 күн бұрын
@@LostInEurope the fogstar pro batteries come with an active balancer which plugs into the battery. Perhaps that would be your ideal battery. You can buy active balancer since I own a cheap on from many years ago but I've never used it. If I remember correctly you connect to the negative then to each positive. You may be able to o adjust your balancing using the overkill solar application available on Android.

set up a website that links these batteries so you get paid by people clicking on the links. look at Will Prowse YT he did it and is now a millionaire. Just look back at the videos where hes in a crappy camper, then his site starts getting hits he has a forum page where people talk about the good, bad and set up. we need something like that in Europe. good video.

@LostInEurope 15 күн бұрын
I like Will's videos, he's very thorough in his testing and far more knowledgeable than me about this stuff. I only know the basics so hopefully I can be relatable for people in the same boat. I'm not really interested in becoming a millionaire, that sounds like a headache! Cheers 👍

@@LostInEurope how manny panels do you have ? In your sistem, how many whats per panel? I am considering buying the 3 rack frogstar battery cabinet with 6kw inverter and a least the minimun panels to take to EU in one go, Thinking in weight to carry in the van😉

My 2x 105amps in my campervan are awesome, I got them on your recommendation and like you say, fit them and forget about them, they are hassle free batteries 👍 I run an induction hob and an Air-fryer and charge the batteries with a NDS 80amp B2B and a 325w solar panel. 1 year FULL USE, fitted them Dec 2023. I was living in my van, so have had solid use every day and still running strong. Great company, Great product 👍

Marvellous piece of kit. Constant voltage if you ever get to run it on the low side. I had AGMs in my van, absolute rubbish and when they became discharged, they were finished. With the proper inverter and power distribution panel, you shouldn't need worry about the system and enjoy it. Air fryers are awesome and now you can use one.👍

Hi Ash just something that popped into my head after watching this video. Do you regret not keeping your Iveco on the road by either driving back to the UK years ago when the MOT was due or swapping it to Swedish rego. I expect it will be a bit far gone now having sat not being used for a few winters. Do you think it might have been cheaper and easier in the long run? Would it have been possible I expect that at the time you wouldn’t have had the money to do it. Even now with all the issues you have had with the little vans would it be something worth considering. The Iveco just seems to be more reliable mechanically. I was a big fan of your original van life stuff as well as your latest as well. All the best from Western Australia.

I miss driving that van a lot, it was my home! But I have to be realistic, now that I don't live in it full time it's too big and way too thirsty on fuel to be practical anymore (18mpg on a good day, 270 miles tank range) Here my van also has to be my car for day to day life and I don't earn much money so that's why I went for something smaller. Unfortunately it turned out to be a rotten egg but thats how life goes sometimes. The beast still starts right up though so it's not dead yet. I am constantly on the lookout for a swb low roof version of that model iveco and would take it in a heartbeat If one popped up.
