Got a mix feeling about that fox, pretty yes, but also know what kind of meat that little bugger loves 🤨

Good video Ash. FIlming in low light with a fire theme has really worked well and had that cosy relaxing feel. Amazing fire building knowledge and I never would have thought that a fire would ignite and burn so quickly, being built and lit differently. 👍

Glad you enjoyed it dude 👍 it's a really effective method as long as you build it right 😊

Re Fire lighting; When the chiildren were younger, we were often in a Swiss mountain Hut for the odd Weekend, or even Summer hiking holidays, We did all our cooking and hot water on a Rayburn type fire stove, that was also the heating in Winter. In Summer we used a grill or "frankenstove" type of fire outdoors for cooking or BBQing. I can't remember where I learnt to make my fires, (might have been in the BoyScouts), but I swear by exactly the same method you use here., It works every time. To teach my kids, i'd challenge them to light a fire with just one match using this method. Now they are using the Hut with their Families, and sometimes send me Selfies of an evening outside around the log fire, which sometimes carries the words in brackets, "(lit with one match)" to which I reply, "I would not want to think otherwise"! Love those moments and feel so proud of them. And this is the reason I enjoy your outdoor videos so much, because of the memories i have, of times before my legs got so dodgy for mountain hikes. I hope, one day, you will have the chance to experience the same sort of feelings as I do now, should you ever feel you want to invest in offspring later. So many beautiful memories of younger years, and often brought back to me through yours (and sometimes CJ's) beautiful videos! Thanks Ash. Look after yourselves, stay safe and greets to the "swedes", from an expat in Switzerland. Steve.

Todays useful? bit of knowledge: Goddards Brewery in Sandowne is the Isle o Wight's oldest Brewery, and Fuggles (fuggle dee dum) is one of England^s traditional Hops, used in many of the UK's beer sorts. ( beer is my hobby, I brew my own - domestic use only).

That's just how i do my fires at home, the embers from the small stuff drop and get the larger logs going and that creates a great fire first time every time

The "top down" method of setting a fire is somewhat counter-intuitive, but we've been using it for our outdoor wood-fired oven and firepit for a couple of years now, and it never fails. It's a great way of getting lots of fuel into the oven before lighting it, and minimises the need to keep adding more logs once the fire catches.

Perfect in the indoor wood burners because it lasts for ages before needing to restock 👌
