My schizophrenic uncle killed my mom, grandma, little sister, and baby brother to try to be with Selena Gomez. It’s crazy to see the part where the girlfriend is trying to help but he’s terrified and then it makes it seem as if he attacks. It’s triggering to me for my trauma but it gives me a perspective on how his brain was working. I only imagine what adding alcohol and taking extra pills would do to make it worse. He needed professional help which we kept begging for but my grandfather refused to send him away… now I suffer without my family.

I don't think I have this condition but I have all the symptoms like I don't want to over engage with people or attend social events anymore , but I don't label it as a condition or a problem, I call it my reality in that , my human BS radar is running at peak ability and I have a much more peaceful, joyful life without all the BS drama that humans relentlessly exploit !!

When he asked what do you do here all day and you said "nothing" and he said "ohh, there's piano, and paintings, other curricular activities." I don't know if he completely understands what it means to be in that state of mind, how underwhelming and static emotions feel. How any of those activities cause no feel, doing puzzles or pushing keys on a piano doesn't illicit the feelings that are caused in "regular" people, we view it as nothing.

So its been many years since ive learnt to drive. but the first year i started driving i would see cars coming at me in broad daylight to the point of having to stop the car. I thought it was a normal experience caused by nerves. Now im on the path of diagnosis.

As long as you sleep, you should be okay I guess! The mistake I made in a similar hopeful situation of full reduction was to drink alcohol again on a happy day. In my case that ruined all the progress to my detriment and was the start of progressing into mania again, which started by sleeping fewer hours. As long as you sleep, you should be good. My two cents. Take care! And so happy for you!

I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, but knew I wasn't. So I used my video on phone and recorded when I heard voice's. And my phone recorded the voice's too. This is 100 percent true.

So iam not saying all cases, and iam not saying their ghosts. Fact is I recorded the voice's and I don't know where they came from. And you can only hear the voices, when you play video back. Don't hear them at time. Only sensitive people can hear in real time. Strange.🤯

Can you explain positive and negative symptoms more thoroughly. I just started learning about that recently. Positive symptoms mean something that’s added to neurotypical behavior and negative symptoms are things that are taken away from what should be neurotypical behavior? I’m sure there is more to it than that but that’s my basic understanding.

This is interesting. It sounds like normal quick thoughts most people have, except greatly heightened by the brain, a quick thought processed by same part of brain that receives audio from ears maybe? Which tricks you into thinking hearing actual voice. This would be incredibly distracting whether the thought were positive or negative.

My original comment seems to have disappeared. Have you heard of hyperbolic tapering? Please talk to your psychiatrist about doing a hyperbolic taper as the tail end of tapers have much larger effects on the brain. Dr. Mark Horowitz in the UK could be a consulting resource for you and your medical team. Your journey with keto and tapering is fascinating. I wish you continued success.

This cannot be real. The team I am part of would have vetted out any media inclding cell phones. I promise she is on none of those medications because anti-psychotics do not allow you to function like this person. You asshole. Why would you leverage this platform for likes.... sickening.

I remember my time in the looney bin. It was probably the time in my life that I have laughed the most. I met a great group of people, we sat and smoked and talked all day long. The amount of sheer deep 'can't breath' crying laughter was incredible. I spent a 10 day voluntary period in there and although the hospital itself was awful, those people got me through it and left a positive memory for me. You'll hear all kinds all kids of hilarious stories and meet all kinds of funny people.

you are endangering the whole process. there is no 40 to 20. there is 40 to 36 for 10 months. then 36 to 32.7 for 10 months. and so on. that is the only way. and keep away from any type of stress.

7:30 is on purpose. what's the point of watching memes which you can't even understand? This is the reason why you think some of them are aimed towards you rather at the illness itself.

If someone is saying you’re being irresponsible that is own them not use. Most of us have common sense and understand what works for one person may not work for the next person. I for one am encouraged by your videos. It does make me wonder how much our foods effect ANY of our illnesses.

Really most of the people watching should be people with schizophrenia, are you? Are you even related to anyone who has psychosis? Are you aware that relapses are one of the biggest issues with people who have schizophrenia because relapses can cause treatment resistance. Have you ever had someone you know end up in a hospital because they stopped taking their antipsychotic? Just wondering.

Laurel, I follow your vlog and I, I think, it’s very interesting and brave. What I’m surprised is a lack of comments from medical professionals (or maybe I just missed them). This is, by all means, is not a criticism for you and the work you do - I am just disappointed that this vlog has been ignored by medical professionals. Thank you for your research and resourcefulness. .

Another "bollocks". If we laugh at schizophrenia = we laugh with people who struggle with it. We're not making fun of making memes about. If we make memes about rape, are we making memes about rape or rape victims? Think about it..
