@drevan1138 China isn't looking strong. Japan is in worse condition than the US. Europe has lagged the US for some time now. Also you have to consider all the years that international lags, it's going to need even more sizeable gains just to average out all those laggy years. Getting out of international has been great for me.

@@drevan1138 I also don't own any bonds. 100% stocks. I don't plan on changing that until I'm 45-50ish.

Time is the most important factor in determining market movements and by studying past price records you will be able to prove to yourself history does repeat and by knowing the past you can tell the future. There is a definite relation between price and time. By studying time cycles and time periods you will learn why market tops and bottoms are found at certain times, and why resistance levels are so strong at certain times, and prices hold around them. The most gain is made when fast moves and extreme fluctuations occur at the end of major cycles.... I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

The key to financial stability is having the right investment suggestions for a diverse portfolio. Many investment failures and losses happen when you invest without proper guidance.

Love your channel, I feel that it speaks directly to me. Simple language that we all can understand with a good balance of risk vs reward advise. A lot of what Tae Kim says I have been doing for years. Today at 64 I seat on $2.3M in 401k and my worry is not so much running out of money as what should I do to pay less taxes in retirement (at end of 2024).

For me I definitely agree with building a very good diversified portfolio as a baseline. I have my toes dipped into a number of individual companies and sometimes use those to rebalance the rest of my funds. About only 50 percent of them do as well as my ETFs and the rest perform below and only a very few outperform. I enjoy investing into individual companies but generally believe if you have low risk tolerance or are not okay with losing money more often, its a terrible option. Everyone should do a lot of research and not listen to any random persons suggestions about what to buy

I've been DCAing into Ethereum and Bitcoin since mid 2017 and I'm up 75% a year on average, zoom out and be in it for the long game. The rest of my investments are metals and index funds, and about 10% cash for bills and living.

Thank you Tae for this simple building block to financial literacy. This is the "what to invest in" I assume shortly you will published an updated "where to invest" (401K, IRA, Regular versus Roth, and investment outside of these). The regret I have for my 45 years of investing is to not have balanced how much to have tax deferred versus previously taxed income. Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) throws off my tax minimization plan in retirement - but I'll still do fine.

Intresting comments. I am mostly in individual stocks and have done well. I am a buy and hold style investor. Some stocks I have owned for 20+ years with dividend reinvestment to average the purchase price.

Hi Tae, can you share strategies for people who have started with Vanguard advisor for 401k or HSA Robo advisor but now want to move away and take control of their portfolio? How can we do it step by step without harming our investments. Or should someone who has opted for this service stick with it? Then how can these be manipulated to suit maximum gains?

My life changed when I realized that no one was coming to save me. If you take your life seriously you will see a lot of improvement. I made the decision to start cryptocurrencies earlier last year at 38, just 1 year plus a few months since I started, I have grown my portfolio to over 100k, I know this isn't much but it wasn't easy to inspire myself. I really thank God for my journey so far and also connecting me with the right people.

It doesn't matter how long you wait, in this markêt opportunities must come. Invest for the long haul. It's important to make informed choices rather than relying on luck or impulse. it's best to partnēr with an advisor.

Some cash and s&p 500 index (401k). My 401k plan doesn't offer a total market index investment, and unfortunately for me their record keeping fee is 10x the cost of the actual index fund fees. Can't win even if you know what you should do.
