I have fnd and I HATE that tic its exactly like mine its almost like trying to force all the air out of your lungs 🫁. I also have a head shake and where I suck in the side of my lip which makes a farming noise 😒😳, so if im standing in a queue people sometimes think im actually farting 😅 which would be funny if it weren't so embarrassing. I feel for you its so annoying and can really hurt after a while.

@@pandatortoise559 I made different types of noises like farting occasionally, I try to say stupid tics afterwards so people hear that I’m not just trying to do it lol. I’ve had tics where I have yelled, then was stuck in place for a few seconds, and staring at a big guy as if i was trying to scare him. Ehh, yet I’m like stuck like a statue, creepy because the guy i think thought i was trying to pretend to start something or literally start something, like a fight. Or yelling and whispering “hi” in a public restroom. Things can get a bit embarrassing lol

@brianbordenkircher52 wow it's so nice to get a reply from someone with the same illness as me ❤️, my tics are very slightly reduced on gabapentin but they get worse when I'm in pain. I'm only diagnosed about a year but I have had fnd from I was about 21 I'm now 36. I hope you are getting help! I see a neurologist but I have had no treatment so far really other than medication and I'm just getting worse unfortunately. How is your journey going? Do you get help?

I go thru the VA and see specialists now as needed, but ultimately only see them only once a year usually, unless I am concerned with some new symptoms. I think mine started from a head injury, not sure, but as far as things helping, I’m on several meds and none have really completely gotten rid of anything in my opinion. I have my good moments and my bad. I struggle with new symptoms emotionally to be honest, as I never know what is coming next or if it will be a frequent symptom or not (especially if painful). I have issues walking some days, as if I am taking a knee, not a new issue, just comes and goes in frequency. Any new thing I wonder if it’s related. I also wonder if FND is just a name for something not really understood, as around 1/3rd eventually find it to be some other injury having caused it. Toughest thing for me, has been acceptance. But I have had mine quite a few years now. Idk, maybe 4 years? I hope you manage yours well. Even as new symptoms develop. I remind myself, this too shall pass. The aches and pains, they subside. The temporary tic, it will settle. And that it will get better

@brianbordenkircher52 I know what you mean about thinking it's a name for something else! I take seizures really bad and they feel like I'm having a literal stroke and in the moment I feel like my time is up and I'm dying. My first seizure it awoke from my sleep like I had been shocked by a defibrillator then this intense rush through my body like lead was being poured under my skin and my heart had burst with fire, I remember being dissociated like I wasn't really there 100% but praying to God please don't take me yet im not ready... not like this please 😔. Somehow I managed to wake my husband but its somewhat of a haze in and out after that. I remember then being in the hospital and the intense build up happening again and my husband noticed my heart rate shoot up on my watch as my body began to shiver like I was cold and I could feel my muscles just tense up involuntary like I was hooked up all over to a tens machine. My seizures are often like that, no real flailing about or anything extreme but they are 100% still so terrifying. Now I get these episodes often and they always start with either dissociation, vision loss or an aura. On top of that I have all the usual symptoms of weakness and the odd time paralysis mostly on my left side. I'm currently sitting now watching your videos 📹 to see if you have any information on how to cope with pain and weakness that I'm having in my lower back. I hope I get to a stage where I understand as well as you and can accept this because right now I just feel useless and a burden and that no one understands. P.s sorry to trauma dump its just so relieving to have someone respond to me that I feel actually understands. So thank you so much! Even if you don't respond to this extremely long reply I really appreciate that you took your time to listen ❤️

@ I posted these videos because I understand. There are also very few men posting videos about their FND diagnosis, so I thought I’d share mine. It’s a journey for sure. I have only had 1 long seizure knock on wood. Other things if they are seizures, which I think they are FND, only last a few seconds typically. My wife has told me to post some more about my FND experiences. Perhaps I should post some more soon
