Neeeever enough Asunder love!!! Really hope all of these anticipated reads live up to your expectations. I am also really eager to get to The Memory Hunters. And Long Live Evil was a bit batshit crazy but I was along for the ride hahaha. Happy reading!! 🤩

My most anticipated would be Strength of the Few with A Drop of Corruption as a close second but I just finished the arc of that and it totally lived up to expectations.

Fully with you on the excitement and fear about Holy Terrors 😂 My most anticipated for 2025 is The Devils by Joe Abercrombie, though A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett is a close second. And my most anticipated from 2024 won't be a surprise, it's Asunder. 😅

Love that you made a re-read category!! And YES finally, it's about time to get to Labyrinth's Heart, such an amazing finale 🤩 And AAAAH Asunder!!! That audiobook is quite good, though there is a weird part where the narrators suddenly switch for a while and then it goes back to normal... idk what is going on with that but yeah, just a heads-up! Also, Guns of the Dawn and Vita Nostra are great atmospheric reads on audio! Hope you enjoy all of these, good luck tackling them troughout the year 🥰

I can't wait for Holy Terrors! There are a couple channels that are doing a reread of the series leading up to the release so I'll definitely reread and look forward to your videos on it! Oooh definitely interested in your thoughts on Asunder, I feel like that one could be such a hit but I keep putting it off. HIGHLY recommend reading Amina via audio, the production for that was so good! I wasn't super into Daevabad so I didn't have the issue with Amina that other folks did and I had a really great time with it.

I did the audio for Amina! It was great!! Such an interesting production choice with the talking to Jamal bits. I think Asunder will be right up your alley

I will never get enough of you gushing about Brightwash, it really deserves soooo much more hype! And you described the vibiness of it perfectly, Krystle's writing is so immersive on both a visual and an emotional level. Also really eager to read the Monstrous Duology! And happy for you that Sunbringer was a good sequel, I'd heard some meh things from others. Hope 2025 has started off great for you 🥰

Love getting to hear more thoughts on these! I'm scared Legacy of the Brightwash will be too grim for me but it does sound so good. I read so many great books at the end of the year but I think The Space Between Worlds was my favorite. I don't like multiverse stories so I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did.

Love that your goal of being intentional with your reading worked out so well, I should definitely follow your lead in that this year lol. Also, don't worry about your unbalancedseries started/finished stat... for me it was 20 finished and 82 started, what a joke 🤣
@iamkurogane24 күн бұрын
You described how you felt about the book in conjunction with the qualities of the book itself. Very well thought out review. I think I finally understand what Kay’s novels are suppose to be like
@caitcoy24 күн бұрын
I like the idea of considering romances as essentially standalones since the series is looser with them, I might do that with my historical romance reading. Nicely done on the priority reads! I need to do a better job of intentional reading in 2025. I made a 24 in 2024 list and then just never looked at it until November and realized I wouldn't make it. 😂

@@Kristenisfullybookd Yes, after the first three novels she felt as she got older novellas were more manageable. So it's the continuing adventures of Penric in novella form instead of novels.

I rated 10 books 5 stars on goodreads, but only 2 of them were true 5 stars. The rest were 4.5-4.75 stars.
@MariaMightReadThatАй бұрын
You have me excited to read so many of these! Godkiller and Seven Year Slip top of the list. And I really need to give Legacy another go.
@danielleoliver1734Ай бұрын
I’ve only started on the last year or 2 to rate most books 4 star, 5 if I love them 3 if they were disappointing. A book has to be offensively bad for me to rate it lower than a 3, it feels to mean, but that’s just me. I used to give pretty much everything a 5 star 😂. Despite this I love when people are stingy with their ratings and a book really has to urn it, I just can’t rate a book as low as every book tuber seems to be able to.

I've read 3 kingfisher books now, nettle and bone was definitely the best, sorceress comes to call the worst, and while I enjoyed them yeah, they aren't 5 stars for me... I just started murderbot! Anything above 4 is so hard for me to rate esp on the stupid good reads app

I usually only buy like MAYBE 1 book every other year (Stormlight) but ironically enough, I didn't buy that one this year because I had already spent way more than I usually do on getting SEs. I'm happy with the SE's I got though, so I don't regret spending the money. In case anyone is curious: TBB Blood Over Bright Haven, TBB Malazan, Wraithmarked Sword of Kaigen. Oh I did buy a Sanderson book, I ended up getting the ebook for Islae of Emberdark from the Words of Radiance Kickstarter campaign.
