I usually only buy like MAYBE 1 book every other year (Stormlight) but ironically enough, I didn't buy that one this year because I had already spent way more than I usually do on getting SEs. I'm happy with the SE's I got though, so I don't regret spending the money. In case anyone is curious: TBB Blood Over Bright Haven, TBB Malazan, Wraithmarked Sword of Kaigen. Oh I did buy a Sanderson book, I ended up getting the ebook for Islae of Emberdark from the Words of Radiance Kickstarter campaign.

Ok that would be a very confronting video for me 😂 conclusion would probably be that i need to actually track this better

Oof that's a rough library fee! I'm afraid to keep track of my book spending, it's been less this year than previous years but still probably my biggest spending category. 😅 I do love seeing booktubers talk about it though!

That's kinda cool though that books is your biggest spending category. What a hobby to spend money on 😊

Accidental library debt- brutal! Happens to the best of us. The special edition bug definitely got me this year. Going to try and tamper the temptations a little better next year.

Came for the books, stayed for the Poppy and pastries content hahah 🤣 Your mood reading madness would give me major stress, but love that it works for you lol. I am super curious to hear your final thoughts on Kaigen and Reign & Ruin, both some of the best of what indie fantasy has to offer imo. And couldn't agree more on Seven Year Slip and Murderbot! 🤩
@LeeReads15 күн бұрын
So glad you're sold on Murderbot now! So a few years ago my husband hurt his back and was trapped in bed after surgery and I basically held him hostage and read him the entire series. It was a good time lol

So jealous of those pastries! Even more excited to try Seven Year Slip now that it has your endorsement too. I'm curious to see how the second half of SoK goes for you because I think that's where I had the most emotional investment. And I just got all of the Mages of the Wheel audios on sale, so definitely planning to give that series another go. I remember enjoying Reign and Ruin but not being blown away.

I love when you do recs based on situations. Agreed, Bride was so much fun! One of my most memorable reading experiences this year. I loved the audio. I need to try Half a Soul but I disliked Small Miracles so I’m nervous.

Deeply appreciate this review!! I loved Hart & Mercy, but I bounced off the first few chapters of this one earlier this year exactly because of all those body comments. I do appreciate the representation of older characters finding love, but I don't know if this is gonna be the book for me lol 🥲
@flowerpixel29 күн бұрын
Just queued some of these. You honestly could make an entire video dedicated to fantasy with simple worlds/more character building because those are my favorite types of books! I'm actually not into romantasy much but I loved half a soul so much that I want to check out Atwater. My number 1 winter holiday read I think would be the snow child. It's a Russian fairytale retelling. And I gave it 5 stars Im going to read the bear and the nightingale soonish but can't rec it yet but obviously winter themed Russian

This is so timely. I've been slumping since October and it's exactly that "nothing feels right" struggle. But I'm still in such a mood to read so it's extra frustrating. I was actually thinking before watching this that I should use this time to cull my TBR a little. Might as well use the fact that I'm dnfing left right and center haha.

This was pretty much the exact take of my friend as well, so as Maria said, it's no longer a priority read for me.

Thank you so much for this video. I had read the book earlier in the year but for some reason I forgot and I wanted to move on to the next book. On an unrelated note I cannot get the second book from my library so I have to buy it digitally because I don't want a lone physical to haunt my collection.😅
@MariaMightReadThatАй бұрын
I have a feeling I’d be just as frustrated with that character as you. It had so much hype before release but I’ve been seeing mostly lackluster reviews from people with similar tastes to me so it’s no longer high on my radar. Gorgeous covers though!

Normally I love vlogs more because they feel so cozy and chill, but I honestly think all your videos have that similar vibe so whatever way your wrap-ups work best for you is all fine by me lol. You are just a comfort booktuber, regardless of the format of video 🥰 Anywayyy, I really need to get to Tomorrow x3 already, the fomo is real hahaha. And I started Twyla and Frank a while back but bounced off Twyla's narration a bit, but I enjoyed book 1 so much that I still want to give it a second shot, especially knowing how much you enjoyed it. Looking forward to what you have coming up in November, love all the indie love I am seeing!! 👀😍

Traitor Baru Cormorant hurts a little haha, I was hoping you'd love it and spur me to finally get to it too. Life's too short for slumping though! I have Undertaking on hold but now I'm wondering if I should prioritize Undermining instead... Yay eagerly awaiting Sword of Kaigen thoughts! I'm focusing on new releases this month (so many I'm excited for) and hopefully wrapping up some more goals in Dec.

@@Kristenisfullybookd That’s good to know, maybe in order then 😂 Mostly romantasy! Courting of Bristol Keats, Songbird and the Heart of Stone, The Serpent and the Wolf, For She Is Wrath. Also excited for Lotus Empire but I doubt I’ll catch up on my re-read in time.
