Loved that mirror fight, pretty intense :D At the soft step trial I was just constantly thinking 'why doesn't she just turn on turn based mode??' :D

Thanks! ☺ It could've gone so badly for me if Mirror Karlach had stuck around for much longer. It was Mirror Shadowheart that took her out with the sunbeam. 😆 I didn't even think about putting on turn based for the soft step trial. 😅 It seemed like a simple sneak section and I thought "I can do that!" and just went for it. 😁I should've spent more time learning the guard routes and sorting out my timing but I was too impatient.

Congrats on finishing those trials! This video reminded me exactly why the Gauntlet of Shar is my least favourite section of the game lol, I share in your pain 🤣 I always used to resort to the cheesiest tactics possible to pass them....Once I found out it was possible to skip the Trials completely and still have Shadowheart become a Dark Justiciar, I've never done them since lol

@@stephengibbons4771 The fight was quite fun, if a little worrying to have all my awesome gear reflected on enemies. 😆 so I can see that one being worth doing again, I agree. There's no way I'm doing the third one though, not unless another of my characters actually wants Shadowheart to be a Dark Justiciar. 😅It's not worth the stress.

@ There's a good cheese tactic for the mirror fight....the game snapshots your gear when Shadowheart makes her blood offering. So you can strip down and unequip your weapons, have SH make her offering, then re-equip everything. You get to fight a naked, unarmed version of yourselves 😆🤣

Great Balthazar fight! Nice to see Shadowheart actually hitting with her spells back to back to take him down! In my current playthrough I've respecced SH to be a fighter/cleric for the extra attack. Playing a couple of days ago she rolled the dreaded 1 in 8000 chance back to back to back triple Critical fail 😥 It was very disappointing lol

So the dragon was ordered to kill us and retrieve the dagger but the attack on the *entire city* is called off inexplicably when the dragon dropped to half health... why? 🤔 It failed to retrieve the dagger, it failed to destroy the city, it probably failed to blight the city, so what was the point of that attack? 🤨Why was Ghilan'nain even there if she was just going to run away when the dragon, which failed to do her bidding, almost died. 😆Why was Rook's presence so critical to the survival of both cities when we accomplished nothing in either?

I re-recorded Leliana's scene after I'd ended the episode with her new outfit on and added it in. 😉I think it really goes with her attitude. 😆I doubt I'll have chance to switch her outfit back once we drop out of the red future either, so I'll likely do the same for that too. 😄

Ah, Ice Storm....the perfect way to start a fight with a bunch of Kuo-toa. The game presenting you with a bunched-up group of already wet enemies seems kinda like shooting fish in a barrel at this point. 😆 If I remember rightly, Kellia convinced Shadowheart to free Nightsong (for selfish reasons, obviously), I'm very curious if Nerys will try to do the "right" thing, or let SH make her own decisions for good or ill.....

Great stuff today. The enemy AI will often pick on whoever has the lowest AC, that's probably why Wyll bore the brunt of those battles.

Yep, poor Wyll. 😄I like to think his reputation is known far and wide so they target him as their biggest challenge. 🤣 He seems to have had the least story so far. Hoping that will change once we get to the city.

Summons can be very useful but it's sometimes a pain in the ass trying to navigate a big group around the map. I recently did a run as a Spore Druid with Gale as a Necromancer, trying to use as many summons as possible. At any given time there were 8 or more summons/undead running around the battlefield, mostly just missing their attacks and getting in the way lol. I ended up abandoning that playthrough mid-Act 2 because it felt like I was constantly herding cats, and the combat became pretty tedious and frustrating 😩

@ Circle of Spores is a pretty unique druid subclass....basically turns you into Sovereign Glut, raising slain enemies with mushroom powers. 😄

Not sure if it's your style or not but have you ever tried Red Dead Redemption 2? It's a story driven, open world cowboy/outlaw action game by Rockstar, it is incredibly detailed and brilliantly written. BG3, The Witcher 3 and RDR2 are my Top 3 games of the last decade, I always enjoy watching someone fall in love with Red Dead 2. Or if you prefer to stick with RPGs, possibly one of the Divinity: Original Sin games by Larian? I've not played those myself but I'd definitely check them out. Epic dice rolls against Thisobald! 😁

I hoped that would be the case, it's just that psychic blade ring that's tripping me up since the concentration ended on it when I wild shaped Halsin before. 😅Must be unique to the ring.

Great stuff, I like fighting the undead shadows too, the noise they make is super creepy. Faerie Fire lasts 10 turns but I think they get a chance to save every turn, kinda like Hold Person. The Helmet of Arcane Acuity is incredible on the right character, it's pretty central to a lot of Bard builds. Karlach falling through a non existent hole on the Mason's Guild roof was pretty random lol

The shadows are very atmospheric, I wish there were more fights around this area with shadows and cursed undead stalking the player and stuff. 😁 I was just confused by how it could disappear and then "lose" the Faerie Fire without making a saving throw since it's supposed to keep them visible. 😅It just must not work on Shadow Blend because Faerie Fire was still on the shadow when it was revealed again. 😉 I have no idea how she got through that roof! 😆

Good portal fight! It can be pretty hard in the higher difficulties. Tavernbrawler is the best feat for a moon druid imo. It is compatible with all the wildshapes! 😊

Welcome back to BG3, hope you enjoyed the holidays. Tempest Domain is a solid choice for a single level Cleric dip, the Wrath of the Storm reaction is quite good (except when you roll a 2 on 2d8 dmg lol). This is a tough fight that can easily spiral out of control as the enemies keep spawning, and the portal itself is fairly weak to attacks (the portal running out of HP is very bad). I failed more times playing this fight than any other (except for maybe the Myrkul fight), but you did a great job! Having multiple spellcasters in the party is a good way to go, AOE spells can really dominate this fight. Ice for the win. 🥶 The elementals were pretty effective too! My current fave tactic for this battle is to load up my two best archers with Undead slaying and Multi target arrows, and then give them each a scroll of Evard's Tentacles. Two instances of Evards can pretty well cover the whole side where the Shadow cursed undead keep spawning. The enemies run into the tentacles, get stuck and make easy targets. That leaves the other two party members to handle the Wraiths and Shadows on the other side. Also, not sure if you noticed when you leveled up Halsin, the Woodland Being he can summon is a dryad, who can herself summon a Wood Woad. Its two summons for the price of one!

@@levanafay I've also heard people say you can use a Wall of Stone to protect the portal from projectiles, but I've never had much luck with that strategy, I think the placement has to be very precise.

It's a fun, chaotic fight for sure. It's kind of odd that no one from the Harpers comes to help out...but it's probably just as well. The fight takes long enough as it is without having to wait for an extra half dozen fodder allies to take their turns 😆

Karlach jumping down the stairs and falling on the icy landing made me legit lol. So funny, I've done the exact same thing so many times using the same risk vs reward approach 🤣 Ice is definitely the most fun surface to play around with, seeing enemies fall never gets old...you used it to great effect against Malus! Looking forward to the next one....Halsin wasn't joking when he said "be ready" when you go to meet him by the lake shore. 😉 Enjoy your holidays!

Wow, in all the playthroughs of this game I've watched, I've never seen anyone even attempt to save Malus Thorm's patient, let alone succeed, well done! It's a shame there doesn't seem to be any proper interaction with him, but not really surprising, considering he usually dies during the conversation that you cut short by attacking. At least it gave you the option to release him. If he shows up later as a shadow cursed undead I'll gain a whole new appreciation for Larian's genius.

@@levanafay Dual wield fighter is a fun but pretty basic build. I'm also using a mod that adds more weapons to the game (katanas ftw), and another that adds extra fights throughout the 3 acts. It's like a whole new game! 😄
