All the accents were understandable, it's just the rare slang words that are hard to understand. Obviously if you are not familiar with the slang word you don't catch what the meaning is, same as in any other language spoken is multiple countries around the world. Something people usually only use casually with friends, not so much in formal conversations. The hardest would be the lisp from Spain, it's painful to my ears. Sounds like your listening to someone with a speech impediment.

As I peruvian it is a little bit embarassing the video you picked. That is a peruvian accent, yes, specifically from Lima but that was an extreme use of slang. In almost any context someone who speaks like that would not be trusted.

Me watching this video as a Spanish speaker, Spanish can be very complex and diverse. Each Latin-American country got a different word for everything. There's always a general word. For example, girl in spanish is niña and niña can also be esquincla in Mexico, Bicha in El Salvador and Cipota in my country Honduras. So Spanish is a very diverse, beautiful and challenging language.

Many features of Latin American Spanish can be traced back to the way of speaking in some part of Spain, especially Andalucia, Islas Canarias and Extremadura since Spanish conquistadors came mostly from these regions. This is well documented snd known to linguists that study the Spanish language. To me this video shows nothing new. Yes, the word "chacho" is an abreviated form for muchacho and it is used in Puerto Rico and probably other Caribbean contries along with guagua gofio and other words and intejections since Canary islanders were one of the main spanish groups that settled the Spanish Caribbean.

That's why we speak Spanish the way we do. Imagine learning a language from people who are speaking it in their own way to begin with and teaching that to the indigenous people of the islands, and to the slaves brought from Africa. You get what we speak today, especially in Cuba, Dominican Rep. and Puerto Rico.

Entendi todo, esas personas unas hablan bastante rapido otras dicen letras distirsionadas dentro de las frases. Aqui en RD se habla el español mal y no sigo esa corriente no sea que luego tengamos un idioma aparte que oara viajar alla uqe estudiar mas que hoy.

Son 10 acentos de América latina. Los acentos o lenguas de España son español castellano, vasco, gallego , catalán , andaluz , asturiano... Nada que ver con lo que estás contando. De hecho a los españoles, a veces nos cuesta entender, porque tienen palabras propias, que no están el el diccionario de la RAE.

When I worked in an office in a hospital in Orlando Florida workers were making fun of Puertorican Spanish so when they received Spanish calls they transferred all of them to me. I stopped taking those calls they were upset but told them my Spanish was Puertorican and not those others countries Spanish. They learned their lesson. They were stuck and the boss could not make me take those calls I would have quit my job first but I have rights and you should not be so bold and nasty. Live and you learn.
