In 1739 Nader Shah of Persia attacked and defeated the Mughal Empire ruling India. This was in revenge for the Mughal attack of Persia in 1219. When Nader Shah sacked Delhi the Mughal emperor OFFERED him the keys to the royal treasuries of India in EXCHANGE for the lost territories, and Nader Shah accepted the deal. So, you see, it was NOT TAKEN! As for the Peacock Throne, the one in Golestan Palace is a replica with "fake" jewels. However, another replica with REAL jewels is on display at the Museum of the Central Bank of Iran.
