agree with a lot of your points. The pacing and writing feel off compared to Season 1, and the characters aren’t as engaging. But I also think the slower pacing of Season 2 makes sense. Season 1 took its time establishing the court & showing how the Blacks and Greens formed, which was crucial for understanding the stakes. For Season 2, the writers seem cautious about moving too quickly since it’s not a long conflict, and they’re planning for four seasons. At a certain point things will move pretty fast, so I get why they’re holding back. But regardless TV shouldn’t feel boring, no matter the reasoning. I actually don’t mind Rhaenyra having a quieter, less eventful season tho. Writing-wise, there are definitely things they could have done differently, but I think it makes sense for her character and the story at this point (like she wasnt doing sh*t in the book right after luc died). But I think this slower pace could have been a great opportunity to shift focus onto supporting cast.

Finale is perfect. The show was always a deconstruction of wealthy people, business and corporate culture as a whole. A happy ending goes against everything the show stands for. They arent supposed to succeed.

It makes me upset that if they weren't going to characterize the dragons, and push for a bad storyline of boring characters. They should have chosen Maegor the cruel, rheana, aenys, queen visenya to tell the story entire jahearys They should have started with that. It fits more of the storyline they are trying to push. Sarah hess should be fired, her terrible changes to the story will be the reason I refuse to watch season 3.

Daemon was destroyed because Sara Hess hates him. She hates his popularity despite being a "bad" character (which is why he was so beloved in the first place, but that woman's two brain cells are fighting for third place, so...). Making Mysaria her self insert for season two was her attempt to combat that, but, to the surprise of no one, people hated that character. Plus, Daemyra is the central couple of the show. Breaking that apart for a shoehorned, forced, horribly-written "romance" between Hess's insert (Mysaria) and Rhaenyra will, of course, result in huge backlash from the majority of the fanbase. Plus, am I supposed to believe that Rhaenyra's love for Daemon (one of the focal points in season one) suddenly faded in one episode (2x06)? Be so for real. The only people who like that "romance" are chronically online Twitter twits who love lesbian relationships, no matter how awful, poorly written, or forced it is. Sara Hess, her cohorts (Geeta, et al), and Ryan Condal need to be ejected from the series. If HBO wants the series to reach four seasons, they need to get rid of these people.

I'm a 45 year old corporate guy and damn I hate the siblings sooo much. Maybe because my background I can't stand them. After Logan died I hate how the brothers treat Shiv. I like the ending.

For however unserious Connor seemed compared to his siblings, he never attempted to hide his immaturity and aloofness under the guise of a serious legacy that his father built like them; he had enough courage to step out from his father's shelter, even if just by a step, and make a fool of himself, which takes a level of confidence and courage Kendall, Shiv, and Roman never had.

They're just spoiled rich brats that are all desperate for a negligent tyrannical abusive father's love and affection. So it's hardly any wonder they all got fucked in the end, both by the monster dad and their own stupid ass in-fighting.

I couldn't agree more. Excellent video. The quality is often overlooked due to the viewer expecting to watch 'the most scariest movie ever made' tagline. Shame really as it's a well made film, just not scary especially to an atheist like me. When the reports of people fainting in the aisles or running out in fear was mainly due to blood tests in the hospital.

Still my favourite film of all time. I don't class it as a monster movie though as the shark is almost garnish to the story. I've seen it at least sixty times and the blu-ray is stunning. Don't know about the 4k as I've not got nor intending to get a 4k set-up. Simply can't afford it and to be honest I've grown tired of replacing my film collection with the latest format. Love my blu-ray so I'm gonna leave it there.

Great show. Except for the negativity. Greek tragedies are common with Europeans who have wallowed in self-pity ever since WW2. They like to feel sorry for themselves. They like tragic endings. "Happy endings arent real!" Well they're real to us Americans and thats why this show, especially the end, got so much criticism in the US. We aren't a beaten people (yet). We haven't given up.

I really appreciate you bringing up Shiv being a woman, it's something a lot of people ignore despite the show beating you over the head with that element. I noticed specifically, over the course of the last season, the camera focused a lot more on the female characters and their subtle expressions when earlier on we might have cut to Tom or Greg's reactions. I sort of assumed I was making this up in my head, but the scene at the funeral where Kerry has basically been having a breakdown since Logan's death, and then Marcia gently touches her hand really made me think it was intentional. It drives home that these women, while not good people in any way, were driven to cruelty and selfishness in the same way the men we see were. Their desperation was taken advantage of by a man who had no regards for the well-being of other people, and especially not of women.

I couldn't stand this show. Boring, I hated they way they spoke. It was like they were trying to hard to be edgy and funny and it just wasn't. They're all horrible people, but that's also the point. I don't feel compelled by anyone's reasoning in this show. It's like what Hollywood's idea of what rich people are like. No rational people would act as these folks do, no one talks like they do, no one does what they do because they're all caricatures of humans that just aren't real. Took me right out of the show, could have maybe been interesting, but I just felt people like this show because this is how Americans like to think of rich people.

Actors chewing a scenery is not meant to be a compliment. It's meant to describe overacting. Thr music you are using has a specific purpose in the show. It is not meant to be put on repeat under you speaking in a monotone. It would be better to use no music than to force this music on your audience for no reason. It becomes a chore to listen to. The show uses it for only a few minutes but you expect us to listen to it for over an hour. You learned to edit and wrote a script, now please try to undesirable music direction.

The way Shiv has to settle for proximity to power cos it's the closest she'll get to CEO. And her choice of man is even strategic. She's not fully attracted to him but hes's safer than all the other men around her, more emotionally available. I'm sure he will be changed by the power but he's never had the same level of mysogyny as the men in her family.

Kendall's character arc is fascinating because it’s both tragic and full of contradictions, showing how he’s shaped, almost doomed, by his father’s influence. In the first season, he starts out genuinely wanting to prove himself as his father’s successor, putting all his energy into becoming the leader Waystar needs. Yet, Logan's refusal to mentor him or fully acknowledge his worth creates this painful disconnect, making Kendall’s climb steep and treacherous. Logan's need to dominate, even at the cost of crushing his own son’s spirit, really sets the stage for Kendall’s breakdowns and his recurring need for validation. In Season 2, Kendall’s compliance with Logan is dark, and as you noted, he shows ruthless instincts, almost mirroring his father’s cutthroat style. This period reveals his potential for leadership-he’s more than capable, maybe even brilliant, but he’s tightly controlled and silenced by his father. His behavior almost reads like survival; he knows Logan can destroy him, and that suppressed intensity actually adds to his tragic strength. By Season 3, though, it’s like his attempt to break free from his father’s shadow shatters him rather than liberates him. His over-the-top antics, grand statements, and erratic behavior make him seem almost lost or desperate rather than the strong, calculating force we saw in Season 2. He wants to lead but doesn’t have the foundation, support, or self-confidence, which leaves him floundering and out of sync with the sibling dynamics. Shiv being the true threat is spot-on. She has a sense of entitlement, a knack for strategy, and isn’t afraid to push boundaries. Unlike Kendall, she’s not shackled by self-doubt or a need for her father’s approval in the same way. She’s willing to go further to secure power, sometimes manipulating others without any hint of remorse. Shiv’s ambition, coupled with her sometimes ruthless pragmatism, makes her a formidable and perhaps dangerous player-arguably the real villain in the Roy family power struggle. In the end, Kendall’s complexity lies in his contradictions: he’s driven yet vulnerable, intelligent yet easily derailed by his insecurities, and ultimately, his desire to prove himself makes him the most tragic of all.
