I loved! Can we make different money bowls? Put in different altars? Or we should have one prosperity altar with one money bowl. Could I include all my wishes in the money bowl?

Ah man I could feel my eyes start twinkling when when you started talking about remediation. My mom's side of the family is basically half Anishinaabe. By contrast a lot of the folks on my dad's side of the family owned slaves and fought for the confederacy. My approach to ancestor veneration regarding those on my dad's side has for years been "I'm going to work to create the world that my indigenous ancestors deserved by undoing the life's work of a whole lot of you, so either get behind me or get the fuck outta my way." To my surprise a lot of those ancestors have been...shockingly receptive. But that's a different story.

I’m a candlemaker on the side. A hobby that I started because of the abundant need for candles in my witchcraft practice. You made my heart happy by going over fire safety and warnings. I see some YT videos where they say big flames mean the spell is working whereas I immediately thought “no your wick isn’t sized right for the application”. And I’ve done it, so I can’t besmirch, but adding herbs to candles is not the safest. But I anoint my candles still and just keep an eye on them for flame 🔥

To add, if you have Procreate (idk about other drawing apps) you can create a sketch book so if you use the grid then you can make lines for writing. You can have separate books for everything you’re working on, then if you want to print it out you can organize it from there. That’s what I’ve found at least.

As far as emojis go, symbolism is symbolism. As long as the correspondences make sense and the spell is being cast correctly (emotion + visualization) there's no reason, at least theoretically that they couldn't work. No way to know for sure without trying them first.

It's funny. I'm from Denmark, born and live here. My family (mostly on my fathers side) is huge! Like, i don't even know them all, even the ones who is still alive. And that too can be a problem, because there is so much information, and different traditions to look into. So I really have to filter it all. The Royal Copenhagen porcelain, is still in the making, and is still painted by hand. In Denmark a lot of people collect it. And if it's old, it could be worth a lot of money. :) So exciting to find out more about your family tree!

Hello again! (been getting around to watching your stuff now that executive function is back) If you don't mind sharing, who is your Mayflower ancestor? Because I am descended from someone there (Alden), as is my wife (dude who fell off the boat and survived, don't remember his name). Descended from different people, and so far different family lines from what we can tell lol. Your video has also prompted me to reopen up my ancestry tree and start tracking that again, so thank you! I also do ancestor veneration and work (I think it kinda goes in hand with working Hekate huh), but so far it's been the recent ancestors for me, like grandparent and great-grandparents. Glad you have you back btw ^_^

That huff about cats munching on plants, I felt that in my soul 😆 As someone who works with Hekate I have experienced her going "dormant", I also find I have more energy when working with her around autumn and less so once spring rolls around. She's not gone, but just quieter for me. And I fully agree about her not being for novices, she is a very intense deity to work with and due to the amount of energy it takes to work with her at the level I work at with her, is why I haven't looked at working with others yet. For oils I've purchased from Styx & Bones. Not only is their podcast really cool, their stuff is very potent. The two people who run it, one practices Italian folk magic and the other works with the Greek Chthonic. I've enjoyed learning from them a lot, and anything I have bought from them have gotten the job done for me. As for ethically sourced bones, I've found most of mine through the Oddities and Curiosities Expo (Minneapolis' one is on the 18 and 19th this month!). The people I've purchased from are able to talk a lot about their sources and their process for getting the bones. All of the bones I have purchased have always felt good, like they were taken care of and respected. I've gotten otter, bear, fox, coyote, and badger from the expo. But there are so many other species too.

ive made a compromise on the expensive beeswax thing, either i get molds and make my own, OR for most spells i get those really long orthodox beeswax candles in bulk. They are handmade with such good vibes and are a perfect 4-5 hour burn and take to dressings very well :) you can carve symbols into them too, with a toothpick. albeit thinner and more tedious, its more bang for my buck in my experience

I do more eastern european folk magic and some middle eastern. I love sewing symbols into scarves and shirts as protection magic. I do a lot of folk magic. Ancestral magic, weather, and plant magic is mainly what I do. I'm just a beginner so I'm still testing the waters on what feels right to me. I do feel close to chaos type magic. So anything unpredictable seems to be what I feel very close to. Never felt close to any deities though except for one but I wouldn't know what they would be considered except for the monotheistic version of God. But I'm not Christian. Mainly Sufi Muslim I suppose. I have been raised so much on things being put into a box when it comes to religion or spirituality that trying to put a name to my conglomeration of stuff still feels weird because it takes from everything. I naturally also carry around seashells, fossils, rocks from various places in my pocket if that means anything ( I never looked up what that meant. It just felt right.)

I work with/worship a few gods in the Greek pantheon, but I have a couple small stories of things with hermes and Hypnos. Starting with hermes, I have a cat (named Daisy) and, any time I’m doing some divination with him with my pendulum (it’s actually just a pendant clock necklace but it works) she always comes over and is all over the pendulum, which is funny cause hermes doesn’t actually like her (asked him using the pendulum) but she doesn’t do this with any other deity. And with Hypnos. Sometimes when I’ve been awake till 1-2 am trying and failing at sleeping so I’m reading or drawing or just on my phone, I’ll just feel someone enter the room, and a bit later (anywhere from 10-30 minutes) I’ll just feel a WAVE of exhaustion and be able to fall asleep very quickly and usually get a great nights rest, with a decent amount of dreams (I don’t get too many dreams thag I remember, cause I’m pretty sleep deprived and I noticed when I don’t sleep enough I stop dreaming)

You mentioning how Hekate "goes dormant" brought chills to me, because I have such a similar experience with Her! Totally agree with the caution about novices working with Hekate as well, as someone who got called by Her, alongside the hordes of Hell (as a theistic Satanist), in my novice days..... the impacts are just. Intense. Loved this vid, as always!

As always, amazing video. The '''joint'' you were talking about, is probably part of the thigh bone that connects it to the rest of the leg, so it's more of a knee joint. I would take a wild guess it is a deer or a smaller cow.

For me, my practice has shifted dramatically over the years. I started my practice when in late high school, but there were experiences and pulls toward non-organized-Christianity for a while beforehand. I started getting into herbal medicine and witchcraft from there, hiding my craft from my mom and siblings with the fear I would be kicked out. Once I reached college, during my first 3 years I exploded into spirit and death work. I got into divination and had a stand at the local farmer's market reading tarot for tips. I met a lady who was a priestess or a local Wiccan circle and I was in that for about 2 years. Then COVID hit. I was briefly back at my mom's place during the last semester of my bachelor's program, then I entered my Master's program and moved back to town. I'm a friend of Nike's, so when I met them in the apartment, we shared knowledge for a time. I started getting involved in online spaces, but most of them crumbled. I tried to get involved with deity work, but it didn't stick. Nowadays, after a 2 year break from my practice, I'm taking baby steps. I set up an altar that has space for a money bowl and ancestor work. I read up on my herb collection and relearned what they're for. I did a small grief working for someone. I'd say I'm primarily a folk practitioner who handles death and grieving as my strongest workings.

Thanks for sharing. I've found that my practice has shifted and actually started to settle into someting cohesive and personal. I started as a Heathen, now I have a Gallo-Hellenic practice with a strong devotion to Brigantia. I share similar feelings about veiling, though I tend to find it more comforting over my heart, so I use more of a cloak/shawl that I've embroidered with devotional images to Brigantia. I have a glasses cleaning cloth that kinda matches the base color, so in places that I can't veil with the cloak (like work), I carry that.
