We used the VA Home loan for our first house. I’m moving back to Seattle for a job opportunity while my spouse continues work and live where our primary residence is. We’d like to invest in a home overseas in a couple of years and use our home here as a cash flowing rental. It was hard and we drained our savings to buy our first home. Everything that could go wrong during the first year of homeownership has. HVAC went out day two of us living in the home and we were hit by a hurricane. No hurricane had ever occurred where we live currently and when we decided to buy a house the town gets hit 🥲

Its funny, I can see my grocery bill is double what it was just three years ago, I can spend $45 for 4 burgers at McDs, i see pick up trucks at 100k, I see skyrocketing rent prices, thus tent cities and ten people living in a house together, but the thing that seems to concern anyone most is why is a house is so expensive? Everything is expensive when wages have not kept up with the cost of living.
@Radiganhomes26 күн бұрын
Yea, and just seeing the side by side of wages vs home prices is flat out depressing.

There's just so much money in the system, it will never go back down to below 2019 values. If you can call that value. Think of it this way, people market and buy a payment, not a price. The median income in America is now officially over $80,000 a person. If you're a dual income household that's $160,000 before taxes, which let's take off $40,000 for taxes since married couples get more deductions than single males. So, we're looking at $10,000 a month AFTER TAXES for your income. A $2,500 mortgage payment on a half a million dollar "starter home" fits right in with "affordable," now. Mix that with a $1,200 Jeep Wagoner payment, to make momma happy and old boy's $1,500 F150 payment, you've got yourself the modern family! Now watch them complain about the cost of daycare... Lose the Jeep, trade the Ford, and buy a reasonable $175,000 3 bed 2 bath in the midwest and problem solved, but Becky from the suburbs wouldn't be caught dead on instagram in the slums of small town Ohio.

i am one of the lucky ones, a 3.7% loan nothing down. no penalties. no add on loan . just all in one home loan. banks want me to refi because of the low rate. equaty out, etc. but thanks to higher taxes and insurance costs here in cal. the monthly payments have gone up a bit. but at 65 i do not care. No wife, No kids. i die bank gets the place anyhow. if i have to move out of ca, same thing. bank get the shack. small house, 2/1, tiny garage, just under 1000sq. 1/3 acre, needs work. house on one side of me has dropped money into it. house on the other side has tarps on there roof.

the buyers of the loans should be prohibited from getting more than 10% or what they paid for the note. the cc corps jacked up there interest rates so much they forced people to default. as a note of X amount could never be paid off.

TRUMP IS OUR BEST CHOICE...KAMALA IS A DEI
@rodneywoods44423 ай бұрын
IT is over, now, not going to change. Unless Trump can turn around the economy and get people back to good jobs and slow the war money waste, nothing will change. Trump does need a congress and Senate to help him. He can do a lot but with help he could do much more. We will have to fight our debt and the trend of rising interest rates for the next thirty years.

Trump is at least willing to talk about the real issues. Democrats only want to fear monger about Trump and talk identity politics. Kamala has the worst policy record and zero accomplishments to run on. I'm picking Trump without question if I want any chance for good policy changes to make all our lives better.

I cannot believe someone actually thought these were good terms!!!!

@allenliu88203 ай бұрын
Lowering or increasing interests rates will do nothing when wages have remained low. Our wages are high compared to the rest of the world, but in the United States, the medium income in the United States is 37k per year which is no where enough for anyone to have a comfortable life. They will never go on vacations and they will never be able to start a family or buy a home. They are one paycheck away from living on the streets and nothing is done about it. No Democrat or Republican is making sure the little guy actually gets help. During Trump, we raised tariffs on Chinese made goods which hurt American consumers and also businesses because we no longer could get cheap Chinese raw materials to fuel our manufacturing industry which caused many of our businesses to go bankrupt and/or get acquired by larger corporations. Then Biden continued those tariffs, but with a quota system which still impacts our steel and aluminum imports. Biden also increased tariffs for China, which of course raised prices for pretty much everything again and now we are in the position where we expect Trump to also increase tariffs on China. Like everything you are doing is hurting Americans more and more rather than making us better off. Lowering interests rates can make housing more affordable, but it can also help the wealthy acquire houses more easily too because now housing is going to be cheaper. The only way to tackle it is to ban them from being able to buy single family homes, but will also have an adverse effect on the housing market as corporations start building massive high rises and just renting them out, so we will still come back to the problem where the future generation will never be able to afford a home and are forced to rent. We need to force people to sell their second and third properties if we ever want housing to be cheaper in America because as of the moment, people are willing to move to Canada, Mexico, and ever Europe of all places to find cheaper housing and that says a lot about the American housing market as a whole.

The Biden policies spent too much money, creating inflation, which forced the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates. This hurts the housing market. When inflation rates come down then the housing market will increase.

I swear people that believe that the president has control over housing cost, food costs, or even the cost of gas. Those people are absolutely remedial. The president does NOT have the power to control the cost of gas food or housing.
@mediocrates55883 ай бұрын
Trump's promised economic policy, particularly his huge tariff program, will cause massive stagflation. Housing prices will fall dramatically as interest rates rise and employment drops. Those who still have jobs will face greater home affordability for all the wrong reasons. If Trump keeps his promise to take direct control of the Fed, God knows what he'll do. He's so un-knowledable on interest rates and the economy he's dangerous. He's so unaware of his lack of knowledge, he'll essentially be a chimpanzee with the nuclear button. Trump doesn't care about infrastructure. Feels like he had something like 50 infrastructure weeks out of the 208 weeks in office, and not a thing to show for it. Trump didn't have the attention span to do infrastructure the first time around. Now, he doesn't have the mental acuity to utter three sentences without some geriatric misstatement in at least one of them. What that means to the housing market is an absolute crapshoot.
