So in the late 70’s I came across a toy display with my grandparents in the local Woolco. They told me I could get shogun Godzilla or great mazinga. It was n o contest! I still own Godzilla to this day. The kraken was advertised in a store called consumers distributing but was never in stock. I still have my Perseus and Thallo from the line! Fantastic review!

What a fantastic review. Thanks for this! I too had a great time with these sets as a kid. My fisher price castle was assaulted many times by the forces of evil! Not sure why I remember those times so incredibly well but misplace my phone regularly!

I LOVE this video so much! Rewatching with nostalgic tears in my eyes. 🥲 Your presentation is perfect. Such awesomely researched details. Sea Wees are my most favourite childhood toy (MLP’s sea ponies being a close second). I long for a reissue of Sea Wees with even more accessories and variations. Alas it is unlikely to happen… Sunny was my favourite but her gold paint oxidised to a green color.😢 Thank you for an emotional trip down memory lane. 💗🧜🏻♀️🧜🏼♀️🧜🏿♀️💗

I missed out on this. He-Man came out when I was in 5th grade, and I had stopped playing with action figures. I still watched the cartoon, but I was all about sports and video games. I didn't go back to action figures until I was in my 20's. 😂 (and it's mainly been with Spider-Man figures).

I question the fact that the line was not successful, it was. Not as, say MOTU or Star Wars, but it was, say, Thudercats level, let us say a cut above the Blackstar line. Most kids had at least a couple of those. Plus some of the rubber ones.

Lovely documentary, enjoyed watching this. Did you use some sort of effect on your voiceover to make it sound like you're recording it via a phone call? Just a note, you said "based off", where I think you meant to say "based on". Thank you for making this.
@thelittlethings33093 ай бұрын
It took me months and thousands of dollars to set up a complicated system of cups connected by strings to create the audio magic that is represented in these high budget video docu-dramas. No expense was spared. All part of the magic. But that is why I get paid the big bucks. Anyway, the term "Based Off" is Moche Peruvian phrase that designates when an old Science Fiction Toy is given particular weight or meaning in a specific cultural context, such as You Tube videos or High Palatial Sun Ceremonies. I wanted some gravitas, y'all. So just hit the "like" button already! This is my retirement plan. You get what you pay for.

I think you were looking at Zeroid from Ideal's Star Team Toyline. They were earlier Star Wars knock-offs that were pretty popular since they beat the Star Wars toys to market. I cover them in Part 3 of this series, so check it out if you get the time. Thanks for watching, and I hope this answers your question.
