Swapped mine out after a few thousand miles because, for me, the seat was painful after 50 to 70 miles and the suspension. Swapped for a Transalp XL750 which was much better in both those areas. I have bought the slimmer seat for the TA and worried the comfort would go but no. God knows how they took 20mm off, so I could plant my feet better at a stop, and keep it multi hour / mile comfortable. Others have a great life with their NC750X, the FRUNK is brilliant and missed, but for me personally I am happy in changing for the TA. I wish you well and safe journeys.

I've never actually had a new bike. Quite a few, "nearly new", say a month old, with 300 miles on the clock but never a truly new bike, fresh from the dealer. With a couple of purchases I did realise I had made a mistake, though not because of any fault with the machine, I just didn't get on with the bike. I've never bought a lemon. Have you checked the GPS speed to the bikes speedometer reading? My Honda SH300i was reading 10% more than GPS. I've corrected it now with a healtech speedohealer. My dash mpg estimate is very accurate like yours is, within 1-2mpg every time. Gentle riding will achieve 100mpg average, but normal riding it's 80-85mpg. I downsized from a Triumph Speed Triple 1050 to my scooter, totally different riding experience and can't really be explained to someone who hasn't done the same thing as they don't understand the merits of riding a scooter!

There's 2 switches on the brake lever when you pull it in, one clicks for the brake light then pull the lever in harder and it'll 'click' a second switch, that allows you to start the bike, same for most Honda Scooters like my SH300i. Needs quite a good pull, guess it's a safety thing so your brakes are fully applied.

There's a lot of talk about how technically speaking, AGM batteries need the higher 14.7v charge rate to fully charge the battery to 100%, most chargers only charge to 14.4v equating to 80% charge capacity. But those same people forget that any car or bike's charging system will stop charging at 14.4v anyway lol. I have this Oxford charger(the blue one you mentioned) that's pushing 15 years old now and yet it still works fine. Love how it shows the charge rate and voltage of the battery, many don't have this for some reason?

I had to do this to my Honda SH300i Scooter after 4,500 miles, purchased it from a dealer used. It was screeching/chirping every time i pulled away from standstill. Lots of dust. Clutch shoes also need roughing up with a bit of wet and dry, same for the bell house, been fine every since. Apparently too many soft pull aways from standstill can start to glaze the clutch shoes then it's a continuous cycle as it gets worse and heat builds up blueing the bell house as the shoes slip.

A thought re: the NT1100's taller seat height: while it is 820 mm vs. the 2021+ NC750X's 800 mm, it also has 150 mm suspension travel front and rear vs. the NC's 120 mm, and 175 mm ground clearance vs. the NC's 145 mm. (The old NC700/750X was 830 mm seat height, 137-153 mm front depending on market/150 mm rear travel, and 165 mm ground clearance, FWIW.) This means that... raise a 2021+ NC by 20 mm or lower a NT1100 by 20 mm, and the NT1100 still has more ground clearance and suspension travel. Which, if ground clearance and suspension travel *really* matters, the Africa Twin exists, but.

Very nice presentation. I had this issue with my Nmax about 18 months ago I went to the dealer because a friend had the issue in 2015 with his PCX but never said what the fix was. The dealer did basically an air 'wash' without the level of treatment you've done; mine had volumes more dust, they just laughed about it and I went away unhappy because I thought they dismissed a mechanical problem. It was good for a couple of weeks but then slowly crept in. Cleaned it again and they did a very detailed job on all the bits as I watched. It's a recurring problem that needs a proper solution. Even with a new belt it has come back again. Your video is top notch for teaching, and much admiration for your pride of ownership (cleanliness). Thanks for this, I'll have a look around and sub.

The CB is better for gentle off road but the NC is better at cruising on the faster roads with bags off torque. Although it's a bit heavier than the CB you can't really tell as the NC carries it's weight lower down. Both bikes are incredible on fuel too.
