Coincidentally yesterday also bought a Burgman 250 from 2000, for only 1100 euros with 19,000 km including large Givi top box in almost brand new condition, only tires need to be replaced before the winter. Bought to take on holidays to Croatia and urban shopping trips. I already have a Burgman 650 for longer rides. This 250 crossed my path, was actually looking for a 400, but offer in this price range are high km. This belonged to an 80-year-old man who had only driven 2,000 km in the last 6 years,

Love this vid. I have one of these and the comments are very accurate. I'm a long time biker with many super bikes under the belt. My little scooter brings back memories of when I had nothing and was an apprentice. I rode everywhere on a Honda 50. I was so happy just bumbling along and as this lad says 'it's all you need' Well done making this enjoyable vid and stay safe pal.

I had a 400 version of this and I can honestly say It was the best bike I’d ever had, totally practical, and yes despite what some others may say it was good fun, smooth, I had 85 out of mine but there was still throttle left to use, I loved it. Sadly it’s developed electrical problems I never got to the bottom of but I’d definately have another. Great vid mate thanks! 👍

That brings back memories . I was offered a good deal on a new 250 as the 400 was the one people went for, it was a toss up between the Burgman and the Yamaha majesty. I went for the Burgman and clocked up about 30000 miles in just under 3 years commuting into west London daily (100 mile roundtrip). I only had 2 issues with it, one was the sidestand switch and the other was a snapped drive belt. That was down to an incompetent Suzuki dealer who did the regular servicing. Traded it in for a Yamaha Tmax which I still regret selling.

I ended up selling mine to a mate who eventually got rid of it but then regretted it after, they are great bikes .but fast forward to now I have the ADV350 which is leagues ahead. Thanks for watching 👍

Nice, you would be surprised at the revs though. I had next gen import Gemma 250 with rev counter. 9000 rpm at 80, but smooth as silk. Great bikes. I am in same position as you keeping an eye open for a nice older 400 but just seen a 250 for sale locally...hmm
@CrohniebikerАй бұрын
@tombobb wow it's been a while since I owned the 250 burg. I did actually get a 400 which was only slightly faster to be honest but it wasn't in as good condition as my old 250 so I'm in the process of restoring the 400 back to its former glory. In the meantime I bought a Honda ADV 350 so the restoring is taking its time. But nevertheless if you can get a decent 250 I'd go for it. Thanks for watching 👀

Whats the fuel consumption in km/l?
@Crohniebiker Жыл бұрын
Not sure what the km/l is but I seem to remember it doing 65-70 mpg around town but it was about 80mpg on a steady run .Great bikes still .

Exactly how I felt got 85 out of it on M6 after I just bought it. It beats everything from a standing start. Just laugh when people try to race me its that fast I'm not bothered.

Lovely machines the Burgman, I had the 400cc version, loved it, it could do 60-80 all day, mine broke down and I had no idea what was wrong with it, it would start but then stop and wouldn’t restart. I was gutted that I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it so I sold it as a project, the new owner figured it out and got it running and it’s still on the road today. They’re pretty nippy bikes, very comfortable, good on the fuel. Your accent sounds familiar, are you from Stoke on Trent or Derby or somewhere there? Great vid, good review, thanks.👍
@Crohniebiker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, yes I'm a Derby lad ,spot on ! , I sold the 250 to my brother and bought a 400 which just has that bit more oomph I was looking for . But for how cheap they are you can't beat them for commuting 👍

@@Crohniebikerdo you reckon 250 and 400 have similar mpg? Or would you say one of them is more economical? Thanks

@kiradotee as I remember, they are about the same. I have the honda ADV350 now, which has a computer telling me I'm getting 85mpg The burgman has to be worked out at the pumps,with a calculator 👍

I have an older Burgman 250cc from 2002 - is it possible to turn off the clock completely? I have this feeling it's slowly draining the battery when I'm not riding the scooter since it's turned on at all times.
