I don't know if it's because of the many editions, but I think the correct books in order are: 1. The Three Musketeers 2. Twenty Years After Sometimes divided into: - Twenty Years After (2.1) - Blood Royal (2.2) 3. The Vicomte de Bragellone Sometimes divided into: - The Vicomte de Bragellone (3.1) - Ten Years After (3.2) - Lousie de la Vallière (3.3) - The Man in the Iron Mask (3.4) But also divided in the new 2018 Ellsworth translation into: - Between Two Kings (3.1) - Court of Daggers (3.2) - Devil's Dance (3.3) - Shadow of the Bastille (3.4) - The Man in the Iron Mask (3.5) Then there are two, let's call them, spin-off books: - The Red Sphinx (about cardinal Richelieu) - La Guerre des Femmes (which is basically the historical events of the second books but focusing on the women, Madame de Longeville and the princess of Condé)

Yes, this seems to be the correct order! Well done :D

@@ProseAndPetticoats I hope I didn't sound arrogant in my comment😅. It's just that I became obsessed during late 2022/early 2023 with the Bourboulon's film and had a deep dive in the musketeers series so I made tons of research to see the books and the order. Thanks for you video, your channel is always beautiful (it's your fault I now have an unhealty obsession with commonplace books 😅)

Are all 3 separate story’s or are they all Odysseus and his family’s story’s just in 3 parts? The only one im certain of what its about is the odyssey.
@ProseAndPetticoats5 сағат бұрын
They are separate stories, but it is recommended to first read The Iliad, The Odyssey, and then The Aeneid :)

@ thanks, my brother recently got me into the EPIC songs someone made for the odyssey and it got me back into reading this series.

Beautiful journals & such a charming video! Thank you for sharing your ideas! Question: what inks do you use in your fountain pens? All of my inks are sadly not archival or lightfast. Some notes from 5+ years ago already started to fade. Switched back to “modern pens” like Uniball 207 for now, until I find archival inks that won’t ruin my fountain pen nibs. Thanks again for a fantastic video, & also… happy New Year! 😊💝

The love of his work endures through the generations. Somewhere I have a ragged, late nineteenth century copy of "Paradise Lost." Most book collectors wouldn't have given it a nanosecond of consideration due to the condition, but, I couldn't pass it by.

I'd say Naturalisme is more about a "scientific" approach of reality. For example Zola made Jacques Lantier and Étienne Lantier brothers with the same violence issues, due to their mother. Every character has their temper related to their parents, social class, and physical features. I'm glad you liked it so much ! As a french literature student, I need to read it too. Adding it on the (very long) list !

Dore captured some deep archetypal moments with his illustrations. Especially his depictions of Dante’s Divine Comedy and Milton’s Paradise Lost.
