I am working on a similar pattern alternating 2 kind of cables and wanted to do 1 purl manually later instead of the ladder. I was making mistakes despite the markers, the ladder is most probably a better choice. I also made miatakes in the cables as I kept getting confused by seeing the cable from the back. Now I know how to try again😊

HI! I am having some issues with the half milano edge technique you show here (I have the same machine as you). I am getting a lot of tucked stitches in the stockinette part of the fabric. I need to hold the fabric with my hand against the machine to avoid that, but you seem to have no issue. Any tips?

I got a brand new Brother 3200 transfer carriage Model KA-8300 with my Brother 890 K. But for the life of me I can't get it to work. It gets stuck at the first needles that need to be transferred. I do everything by the book but nothing would help. Can you please give me some advice?
@carmenhiddes6640Ай бұрын
Wonderful design, thank you so much! Would there be a way to avoid this float created in every hole? It's obviously caused by holding the needles over several rows and then moving on to the next pair of needles. So... unsure if it would be possible. Perhaps with wrapping of some kind?

Please try knooking next time! It's knitting with a crochet hook. I'm a crocheter and machine knitter and I've never enjoyed hand knitting, I've never been able to progress. I quit hand knitting the day I started knooking and I'm not going back! The knooked knit stitch is as relaxing to make as a double crochet... Which is the biggest compliment I can give to a stitch!

Thanks for the tip! Need to try this now 🙌🙌

@@Knitology1x1 www.youtube.com/@-Tine- has BY FAR the best tutorials on basic stitches. Once you know how to knit and purl with a hook, you'll be able to convert pretty much any knitting tutorial into knooking. Have fun!

So fun to see all that you learned in just 30 days! Congrats! As others have said, learning how to knit both English (throwing) and Continental (picking) is very helpful when it comes to color work - put one color in left hand and the other in the right hand - nothing will get tangled.

Thanks! I refer to this video all the time. For the 2x1 rib, is it possible to get the strand of waste yarn in the edge like you have for the 1x1 rib? I tried doing the cast on using waste yarn but can’t get the last row to unravel
@Grova2 ай бұрын
Update: I knit the zigzag row with the main yarn and laid a strand of waste yarn over top of it and got the same effect

When doing the 4 holes if im having trouble kinda getting the carriage across for the first row, is that normal?
@Knitology1x1Ай бұрын
Sometimes it is a matter of oiling the machine, changing the tension ( keep in mind that we don’t always have to loosen, too lose of a tension can make the carriage move across with difficulty), the number of weights used and sometimes you might need to use a different yarn all together. Not every yarn works well on this type of stitches. It shouldn’t be too difficult to move the carriage across as that could damage the machine. Hope this helps! Good luck 🤗

Thank you. Do you have a formula how many stitches to pick up of the slanted sides to hang on the bed on either side of the 40 straight stitches to start the ribbing?
@Knitology1x1Ай бұрын
A formula that I use for necklines when I shape them, and I guess that could work in this case as well, is to cast off half of the total number of stitches and decrease the other half on both sides. So if my neckline is 60 stitches I will cast off 30 in the middle ( and in this instance that means those needles we leave on hold at the very beginning) and decrease the other half which will be 15 on either side of the neckline ( so in this instance those are the needles we bring on hold one at a time) . You’ll have to test and see what works best.🤗 hope this makes sense and helps you. 🤗
