100% an e-Bike/motor vehicle at 32Km/hr not a "mobility scooter" & illegal to ride on the sidewalks in most of Canada. This man is lucky that his local law enforcement is letting him off easy. In Ontario he wouldn't receive the same treatment in most places.

I say this because I am disabled & live in Ontario and not allowed to get away with this despite needing it. It isn't exactly fair that he gets away with it while others are not allowed to. My bottom line is that the government needs to revise it's legislations and it's law enforcement when it comes to transportation in the 21st century. Our country is too far behind the times. The fact that the officer didn't even know the laws on it is ridiculous. That officer should be suspended without pay until he learns the laws he is supposed to be enforcing before returning to the job (Highway Traffic Laws at the bare minimum that should be required to be known as a police officer in any province of Canada imo).

Here in Parksville there are a hand full of elderly people who seem to think its ok to drive these on the road. Literally causing cars to drive into oncoming traffic to pass them. Age does not come with sense.

its is not like a bicycle... dreaming... good for him.. but him and the wife and the little car hit someone at 20kph the outcome for the pedestrian on the sidewalk likely will be bad... now he wants a four door...wtf? it takes up the whole sideWALK... he doesn't have a license ... why?? if he can't drive on the road why should he be okay to drive on the sidewalk? and liability insurance?? I am all for freedom so if this works out and he doesn't hurt someone..so be it... I have enough imagination to see possible issues but until they happen they don't exist...right??

Mobility scooters are a great idea but this thing does not belong on our sidewalks. That's an abuse of the privilege. And, with no insurance, when a pedestrian gets hurt, the cost of the resulting civil suit award will come out of his hide.

this is great for him, but what about pedestrians who use the same side walk? What about people with strollers? Are they supposed to vacate the side walk for him? This is a car! In doesn't belong on the sidewalk. If he lost his license it means there was a reason he lost it! since he doesn't carry insurance pr registation, what happens when he hurts someone?
