Ok, cool, he made a heavy base for shop equipment 👍

Backlash in a vice? No such thing! Backlash is something that moving machine parts in axial and rotational motion needing precision can have in their movement, a vice holds stuff from moving, and so there is no backlash! The shocks are just silly and completely unnecessary, plain old bar stock or tubing would work just as well, those are only guides after all! The only thing that is surprising is the lack of rational thinking, and hyping it up as if it's something brilliant in this video and in the comments. Add to that the work is rather sloppy, quick and dirty, so unprofessional.

Cute but a lot of extra work to use it... Just a regular self would be fine...

I give this young man TEN STARS for this video! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟+🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟=10 I have to admit that I was VERY skeptical at first but I watched with an open mind. This is an EXCELLENT solution to a very prevalent problem. Many people struggle with 'walking' band saws, drill presses, grinders etc. This is dangerous!! The weight of the concrete and the rubber works together perfectly to solve this tormenting problem. AND, wait, there's more! It gets rid of a junk tire which is a major global problem!! Why would you cut out of the middle of a piece of chipboard? Or anything else, for that matter.

That's awesome build ⚡👍⚡ I'd be a little scared of those coil springs with load tension on welds, a steel box welded around them so if they do fail, coil spring would come apart, be inside the box and preventing any unnecessary harm

Used to see this a lot at gas stations and construction sites back home in Hawaii (without the little wheels) and also in the military.

Springs make no difference at all compared to a regular toy like this without springs. It's just another risk for the children to hurt themself.

As a woodworker who: "know what it does" and "how to use it" I can tell it's great idea to use absorbers. But!!! Why the hell you wasted time for cuting and threading?!?!? 🤣

Yes, Great use of a shot brake rotor, and finished it's not a flimsy weld cart that they sell today for an outrageous amount of money. I believe I will build one like yours from the flimsy piece of junk I bought a few years ago.

While watching this, the thing that struck me was the center hole of some might be about the same size as an Olympic barbell. While they might not be as “efficient” as a good set of iron weights today, several brake discs on a bar might be a cost effective way to pump iron without incurring the post COVID cost of weight sets.

I have been critical of dangerous DIY modifications of power tools, but this is a very safe and practical idea. It is well and skillfully constructed, and with such skill, you could turn your hand to many similar projects. I unfortunately don't have the skill or equipment to produce anything like this. But in watching these videos , while we may not copy the project, we often can get new ideas for projects we have in mind. One I want is a paint stirrer (not one which where you have to take the lid off and use a drill with a paddle). This is messy, especially with a full tin but one where we can gently shake or rotate the tin (with the lid on) before we are going to paint. I won't touch a mains power motor (from an old washing machine, etc) as to get it wrong, it can mean electric shock as our mains voltage is 250 volts. I have been electrocuted once before.. But I will use a 24-volt old lawn mower motor once I figure out how to do it. It would be great if when preparing to paint, to put the paint tin on a gentle mixer, leave it for 30 minuets or so while setting everything else up, come back to well mixed paint ready to apply.
