I am bit confused, what would be an appropiate strategy to start my revision. If I read the cfa institute 2500 question and EOC only can I pass

Hey, I have scrapped GMAT exam just because I hate mathematics, not like the numbers but the solving process for equations in algebra, geometry etc.. I can analyze a companies financial statement and come up with valuations, read on companies for hours/days+ but I can't get into Quantitative sections. Do you think it makes sense for me to take CFA level 1, I do want to get into financial services career but I hate all these formula's and equations.

All these get-rich-quick personalities will disappear when the risk is realized because the market takes a downturn. Every decade we get a new generation of them and every decade they crash and burn when it goes south. I knew a person who was buying 2-3 apartment conversion condos PER MONTH in 2003-2008 and in 2010 they were stuck with 5 units (and 5 interest-only loans) they had no renters for and were upside down by over 30% each unit.

Or maybe people nowadays are opting more for the paid deferrals instead of taking risk and loosing their USD 1200 dollars since the exam is getting more and more expensive. They rather take more time to prepare and that's the reason why we see a spike in passing percentage.

If you are going for the CFA charter - these courses are unnecessary. I am a MBA who doesn't need a CFA charter - but wanted additional education in PE. That's who should take this course. Just my $.02.

Couple of points (I’m due to sit L2 in August) 1. For Level 2 I feel everybody is studying 400hrs + now a days due to the traditional understanding that L2 is the “hardest” If the average study time is increasing, so too would the pass rates naturally. 2. One data point has spiked up, but think it would be a fair assessment if the trend line was increasing. 3. Similar to point 1 I think people are more prepared now, more resources online, Kaplan, MM etc all excellent and better at teaching and condensing the curriculum. 300hrs 10years ago (reading and learning yourself from the CFA textbooks) vs 300hrs today: info has already been condensed by prep providers and perfected for learning means 300hrs goes a lot further today?

Every time I see a practice question that requires a formula, I write the formula. So my strategy, instead of straight memorizing, is to do so many practice questions that I can’t forget the formulas.

I'm an MBA and CMA, and thought about doing the CFA, but was fatigued from my previous standardized testings... I decided to take on the CQF (Cert. Quant Finance) cert --- if you're not a Phd Maths, good luck.... I'm in stochastic differential equation hell...... lol
