Hello Nancy, I am currently reading and enjoying Brian Doyle's book One Long River Of Song. His essays are a very good read and I'm sure he's on the 'right side' of humanity. Especially having just finished 'The Bullet'.....As I haven't been on KZbin for a while I'm taking this opportunity to wish you and yours, the Very Best of this Xmas day and the following year, good health and happiness. ......your friend, Jim.

What a gorgeous performance for you here, Nancy. The melody and lyrics haunt and your dulcimer and voice are right there at the heart of the song. Monica has a gem here. Wonderful reading Nancy! These are themes that are constantly in my thoughts, but it's difficult for me to express them in words. Instead, I choose to interpret the lyrics of others that I am most moved by through my playing and singing! Wishing you the best always ~

I've just been out racing around on my bike in the wind...great fun. Nobody else was cycling today. I had to stop at one point as I was about to be blown off the bike 😁 I will make time for singing soon, regularly. I hope you are doing well also

"And then he began to sing...." And sing he did. It's no wonder that Death grew closer - to see, to hear. To glimpse that pencil. Nancy, your reading was a gift beyond measure. We hold pencils such as these close to our hearts, both in their singing and in their great and unforgivable silence. Thank you for this....xo

Hi Linda! And he bought a new pencil...two days before he died... Still having things to write about...things to draw....things to capture and pass along.... Because we can never exhaust the possibilities or see it all! That sense of wonder and that insatiable curiosity... and the delight and joy with which he seamlessly moved into whatever comes next... I hope I can channel that perspective and attain that level of bliss and celebratory transition. Yes, the singing was lovely. Thank you dear Linda! I'm really glad you made a happy connection here!

Great narration and delivery here, Nancy. Blake seemed quite the eccentric, my kind of person, hehe. They make life so much fun, plus he was a great poet. Thanks for sharing some interesting stories. Btw, I could hear the Southern in you when you said, ‘nekkid’, Southern Sis. Loved it! :) Janet

Hi Joseph! Thank you for coming to listen. I wish it was not too long to share the written words. I am so glad to share with you and hope it will be understandable. Well, first think I can say is, I am lucky to have worked with 35 american teachers ( in Korea), so it helped me to understand better english, héhé. I thank you for this beautiful spiritual poème . The words ' Grain of sand' reminds me of a Bob Dylan song: I will share with you the George Harrison's version ( he did together with Bob), because this version is much shorter, but I love also the original one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnLEhnmLjMxno9E

I would have invited him to my party and encouraged him to dance and sing his poems! We came through the storm better than the forecasters expected mostly....here in metro Atlanta. There were trees down and flooded places in our area, but I was fortunate that we just lost power for one day and our basement flooded. Clean up isn't fun but we didn't lose our house or any trees. Hi, Janet! I have missed you! I hope you have taken some wonderful trips and are doing alright! I really appreciate you thinking of me. We were nervous here in metro Atlanta; the storms overnight were rough for some hours with torrential rains and winds. My girls and I went through a tornado hitting our home years ago, so I am especially watchful when it is like that. I feel very fortunate that my whole family (spread out over the metro area) came through okay and the extent of our damage is a flooded basement and no power until this evening. Lots of folks here and other places have really suffered. Good to hear from you, friend! Thank you!
