I did visit Sosua while spending a week in the D.R. At that time the beach was chock full of Euro-tra...I mean European men who were each accompanied by what looked to be lovely but far too young Haitian girls. Like fourteen year olds. They would have "rented" them for a week or two we were told by a local. I imagine this has ceased since attitudes in general have changed regarding under age girls. The Jeffrey Epstein (I think it's possible he was an Israeli asset, he never made a currency trade in his life. These things are recorded and available. Where did his billions come from?) effect you might call it. But credit is due to certain feminist pressures that are impossible to criticize or take issue with. Anyways, it was a disturbing sight.and it pissed me right off. Nothing, however, to do about it.

Damage like that will produce traits that are transferred from primary caregiver to child unknowingly. Pickton was probably picking up the grandchildren of those who were once happy, healthy children, kids, growing up among their own kin. Don't tell me the reserves were hell holes. That is something the Canadian Gov and the Vatican, yes, should work on. Start with clean water for drinking.. The Vatican, so incredibly wealthy, but so very quiet after the full extent of the ordeal these young people faced for years. Sex Work is not going away. Cracking down on it forces the women into the shadows where they are far more exposed to dangerous men. The Vancouver Police Dept. ,for years, ignored persistent rumours of a serial killer who owned a pig farm where he invited sex workers to parties. They even had his name. A warrant for illegal firearms was finally issued and immediately the police found the DNA of several missing women. He was murdered in prison in a "major assault".They won't release the details but I hope he was done in by a First Nations man.

Just moved here a month ago! Love the island and can confirm most info in this video is well represented and correct especially when it comes to scooters. Even better rent a car. It's not as dangerous as Phuket but people drive fast here and road shoulders can have obstacles like sand or branches (especially after rain) - very easy to hurt yourself if you don't have the driving experience. There are some amazing hikes and incredible wild life here (just saw my first Great Hornbill!) that are not covered on youtube yet. You do need a local guide to enter the hiking areas though. Bring your telephoto and macro cameras if you have as there some really exotic species here. The elephant situation is kinda sad here. The ones by the side of the road are being riden into work every day though they seem to be cared for from what I can tell with my limited exposure. There are places that train elephants to perform tricks and understandably all of them have 1-2 star ratings on Google Maps (you know what to do). The night life is a bit depressing though with mostly old dudes in "sports bars" and like 1 live music venue and couple of decent beach bars but the season hasn't started yet and the vibe seems to be growing in a positive direction. Saw some new places like Beach Babe and Cabana that have a nice contemporary vibe, good djs and there are several cozy reggae bars. The weather is amazing. It's sunny, rainy, cloudy. The diversity is very refreshing and feels healthy (in October at least). This is all based on 1 month of October so take this info with a grain of salt. Generally I'm very happy with my move and the locals are very welcoming. The infrastucture is great, the island feels quite safe and there's just so much to see if you want to explore the nature.
