I agree with most things you said. It's ironic how the infrastructure has improved but the quality of people has gone down. I think if the government and business owners were really serious about completely cleaning up Sosua they would pass a law or hotel owners would have a rule where no visitors/guests are allowed that are not registered upon check in. Simple as that.

Soi 6 is a bit off the beaten path, in the sense it's not surrounded by bars everywhere on every street like on Soi Buakhao and its many side sois. There are bars and a-go-gos everywhere you look. Soi 6 is one of my favorite places for a quick, no hassle, good time. Pick your girl, drink, go upstairs, shower, wham-bam, and be on your way.

Do not use ATM’S unless you want to pay the AUD fee of $9…then your bank will give you an exchange rate less than in Pattaya. I take plenty cash with me from Australia and change it on the street at the best rates, cash is private and no prying bank eyes.

I wouldn't openly walk down the streets alone at night anywhere in the Philippines. I will be in Angeles soon and may or may not check out Subic Bay. I do want to check out other cities around the area. I was in Cebu this past Dec. and seen most of the sites like the Whale sharks and the zoo. I will be retiring in a few years and may snow bird the Philippines and just want to check out the area where I might want to stay and use as a jump off point.
