I did visit Sosua while spending a week in the D.R. At that time the beach was chock full of Euro-tra...I mean European men who were each accompanied by what looked to be lovely but far too young Haitian girls. Like fourteen year olds. They would have "rented" them for a week or two we were told by a local. I imagine this has ceased since attitudes in general have changed regarding under age girls. The Jeffrey Epstein (I think it's possible he was an Israeli asset, he never made a currency trade in his life. These things are recorded and available. Where did his billions come from?) effect you might call it. But credit is due to certain feminist pressures that are impossible to criticize or take issue with. Anyways, it was a disturbing sight.and it pissed me right off. Nothing, however, to do about it.

With the knowledge of having been to the DR twelve times, I think I can say that I find Sosúa worse every time I go, the last one a month ago. Motorcycle madness, now also the four weels that were not there before, deafening noise, music at a volume that the human ear is not prepared to withstand those decibels, at least the civilized human ear because it does not seem to bother them at all, the access to the main beach both through Batey and Los Charamicos, I doubt that in a third world country they are in worse conditions...even prostitution, which has always existed in Sosúa, before the girls were of a higher level than now , they dressed better and had more education than what is currently moving there, probably because it is what the average tourist who goes to Sosúa is looking for, a saying goes that honey was not made for the donkey's snout. I have seen fights, I have seen machetes, I have seen some bleeding. The Pedro Clisante is crazy because I already avoid passing by. Sosúa today is to live in an urbanization on the outskirts that there are very good and pretty...and expensive, and move to the city but to Playa Alicia which is something else, much quieter and civilized, the main beach is abandoned in As for maintenance, I suppose they have already let it languish until the planned remodeling is done, and Pedro Clisante Street from the ruin of Colmado Sosúa to Bar de Ramona is crazy not to appear there. Once you leave that madness behind, on the same street ahead there are a couple of bars where you can have a drink without the risk of going deaf: Cheers and Smiley's, as of today the only ones I recommend in Sosúa. That is reality and anyone who says otherwise is either not telling reality or hasn't been there in a long time.
