Was lucky enough to sit in with this line up for a weekend. Nervous as a cat. Bass player nicest guy ever. Got me through it.

James and I broke a lot of bread together but the highlight of our friendship was displayed when he playing at the Doheny blues festival James was rocking and in a moment I appeared on stage with a huge meat platter filled with baby backs chicken brisket and his favorite Burrell’s hot links I was darned in chef outfit rocking to his beat the he grab some ribs off the platter and the crowd of thousands went wiled and at the same moment I had instructed my staff to pass out ribs on a napkin to the audience we had turned the place Rest In Peace James

This shows that good music is not about one million notes in a second or a lot of distortion. Its about a good song and feelings combined with skill. ❤️🙂

I like this very much. everything is in balance with harmony in the band. The sound is good, not to much reverb on the guitar, which is common. 👍❤️

Having played and heard a lot of blues, I really have to say that this may be the toughest double-shuffles on all of KZbin. George Raines and June Core are two drummers off the top of my head who I’ve heard lay down this kind of floating, slightly behind shuffle groove. So fun and easy to play over.

Saw this band half a dozen times in a little 75 seat venue called The Downhome Pickin' Parlor in Johnson City, TN during the 80's-90's. Awesome every time. Caroline Dahl and Rodney Hatfield have very few peers. RIP Nick. Thank You!
