The best video that I have looked at re Karela. I learned that I can retain most of the seeds. Indeed, I just cut up 4 large karelas but unfortunately discarded the seeds. Not again. And I enjoy the bitterness, so no sweet for me. But will add tamarind & green mango. Hugs and blessings ISH Brampton ON Canada

Finally! A good educational video on bitter melon and preparation. I learned good information that other channels do not give. All they talk about over and over is the diabetes effect and no information on how to prepare. I did not know what to look for or about the seeds. Thank you so much. I look forward to other healthy recipes from your channel. Peace to you! ❤

I sonetimes soak methi seeds in water and when they become soft and fluffy, I add them to spinach wilted in a pan with a pinch of olive oil, salt, chopped ginger and garlic Makes for a lovely contrast and texture.

savory > sweet. Much healthier! I would do the carrots first so they can soften more.

I make this all the time since I watched this the first time. I love this recipe. Thank you! I'm wondering if you make your own chickpea flour. I've been buying Bob's Red Mill, but I do have an Indian grocery store very close to my house. Maybe I should buy there??

How long can we keep the oil or do we need to make fresh every time?

This is a very interesting recipe. It looks yummy but according to Ayurveda raw and cooked vegetables are an incompatible food combination and so is fruits and veggies. Could go into this a little bit please?

Thanks ❤❤❤❤ I have intuitively making savoury porridge for years but not easy to find recipes This one seems to have it all I found cooked oats a bit heavier than dry like crackers but at the same time love the idea of warming spices and veg on it We live in Scotland so even in summer I prefer using warming spices to keep my digestive fire going ( weather is too damp also) Many thanks to you❤❤❤

Just as an idea, chopped dates, ripe banana, and walnuts are a wonderful oat combination, nutrient dense and very filling. A sweet dish does not necessarily need a sweetener like sugar, maple syrup, jaggery, or honey.

I love fenugreek in any form, but my favorite is sprouts! I usually sprout them with lentils to dress up a salad on the cheap.

Does the completed dish still taste bitter? Is the dry cumin pre-roasted or is it the a specific one to buy that steps so? I was also told, if the outer part of the karela is scraped off it would reduce the bitterness. Is this true?

According to ayurveda fruits should not be mixed with vegetable dish. It creates toxins in our body. Fruits should always be eaten separately after an hour of any meal....

Everytime I try to make it, it sticks, crumbles, can flip. I oil my pan, keep the heat low, cover it, wait til the top is dry before I attempt to flip. What am I doing wrong?
