Thank you Abbie for your story! Many flight attendants recommended for me to watch your KZbin channel. I click on for the first time and your story pops up. I feel that this is such a Godsend to be the first video I watch of you. Forever grateful, Victoria.

We're not hiring any FA's or pilots until 2025. My daughter was waiting for her training day, but didn't receive her training date in time, so she'll need to reapply whenever it opens. 😢

I hated working as a flight attendant. It felt like you were constantly being monitored and the slightest mistake was reported. You have no life and no colleagues you really know.

I like her personally, BUT also: kudos to all those people, who are now trying their best to refrain from saying “I told you so”, now that it’s acknowledged that masks never really did anything to protect people… and for putting up with people like this shaming you for 2 years into complying with Faucci’s arbitrary “non-science” like YOU were the ignorant and inconsiderate person … sigh 😔

OMG. I just WENT to training in 1988. Yes, it was tough. No, I didn't prepare. It was harder than I ever thought it would be and don't try to say it's harder now. You behave, you study hard, you give it your all. We had a bar onsite at training. Occsionally we drank, we partied...we showed up on time for class the next day and we busted our asses. Not to mention the weight guidelines that were in place then. I was 5' 6" and could only weigh 131 lbs. A supervisor could pull you aside in any airport and tell you you needed to be weighed. It was humiliating and thank God was done away with. Oh, and you could smoke on the planes in the back. That ended around 1990 or so. I flew for 5 years with American.

Wow Abbie, what a story. As a 30 year Southwest flight attendant, I could have much to say about this story. But the cliff notes version would go something like: I am surprised they terminated you for this. I wonder if they would do that today? I doubt it. Because even if I think of it from the airlines' perspective: Why would you invest so much time and money on an employee, only to shun them away for a reason that is not really a detriment to the desired process? A simple mistake. If an employee turned to have a bad attitude, or made a willingly bad mistake, etc, then, Ok. You let them go. But the money invested in people is not a trivial amount. A mishap like yours is not so uncommon, really. In my own experience, I can think of a time or two where I could have easily been fired. But for whatever reason, I guess the Lord wanted me to remain. Dumb luck. And I guess He wanted you to meet Mr Unger. I think you should keep up the good work.

What was it like trying going through the application and interview process after being terminate? What was your response when you were confronted about your termination from other airlines?

disclaimer: If you don't fit their narrative; they will not hire you. Your physical appearance has a lot to do with their decisions. If you're ugly, crooked teeth, have a lazy eye that isn't noticeable, but there. They will not hire you. They look for the most model-like looking people. This is the hard truth of why airlines discriminate. These are the other reasons why you don't receive a CJO. American Airlines, Delta and SkyWest are the biggest discriminators.

I was hired by Northwest in the 90's. I took a urine test 2 weeks before they flew me to MSP for f/a training. In the 3rd week of training they said my urine came back positive. I asked positive for What? They didn't know what I tested positive for. Could I have fought my termination.

Weird question, is domestic training and international training done in two separate training sessions? Example domestic is 6 weeks and then international a little later for another four weeks?

I am in the final stages of the hiring process. I live in Medford and have many years of previous airline experience. I am coming from envoy ground crew which was the lowest pay out of every airline. I had 6 years on the job and was getting paid the same as new hires. I knew people with 10+ years that never saw a raise.
