What does well regulated mean 1776? it is simple being skilled at something or the use of. What is a militia? It is a local group of citizens forming as a group in defense of their person and others. What is a free state ? it is a free people defending their rights and property not control of the government. If the second amendment was for the militia only it would state the right of the militia of the militia to keep and bear arms. but it is clear it is the right of the people to keep and bear arms that is each citizen.

Alright, here we go. Better read now before my comment will inevitably get deleted: #01: That's not an actual belief most socialists have, it's just a meme! #02: Not a lie, very likely true. Look at North Korea, they used to be richer and wealthier than South Korea until around 1990 when they lost their biggest trading partner (USSR) which caused a severe famine (Fun fact: The Black Book of Communism attritbutes this famine to land reforms in the 50s 🤡). #03: No ideology is per se "peaceful". Be it purges in the USSR or genocidal dictators in Africa and Latin America funded by the CIA (Pol Pot was probably paid by the CIA too). #04: Not necessarily wrong, but a criminal oversimplification. One of the main goals of socialism is to eliminate the profit motive and instead prioritize actually satisfying a deeper purpose (that's why under socialism we would probably see a cure for cancer or actually send people to Mars instead of acne creme or the iPhone 17 Max Pro Ultimate for $3000 with a 2 nm wider display than the iPhone 17 Max Pro). #05: Again, most socialists don't actually believe this. Another one that is literally just a meme. #06: Depends entirely on the individual case. #07: Same as #06. Most elderly Russians probably prefer the 60s and 70s over the 90s and 2000s, though this could also partially be youth bias (when you are super nostalgic about the days when you were younger to the point that you ignore all the negatives). #08: Same as #01 and #05, it's just a meme!

In a free market system freedom works both ways. The freedom to set your own prices and the freedom to abstain from buying. When both of those freedoms are protected prices will find their own most efficient level.

Religious freedom was about encouraging the worship of the one and only GOD by not favoring one religion over another, it was not about encouraging the worship of any idol. And freedom of speech, the freedom to assemble, etc, the founders had something kind of noble in mind

Myth #11 We can grow ourselves out of this problem. It's that typical Keynesian thinking that got us into this mess. Our entire economy is based on cheap debt. You can't simply fix government and hope to out grow it with a consumer based economy that relies heavily on imports to maintain itself. The cheap debt has long since metastasized and infected our system. Half the reason the government does what it does is to simply keep the system going

Deficit spending is money creation. The Federal Reserve can always buy Treasuries with newly created reserves at any time. The fact that they can do this means that Treasuries are effectively money as far as the private sector is concerned. For example, holders of Treasuries can always sell them to get cash, and should the market go on a selling spree, the Fed can always buy them controlling their prices/yields and interest rates. When the government deficit spends, they introduce new money into the system. Its essentially a wealth tax on the purchasing power of fixed rate dollar denominated assets (cash, treasuries, corporate bonds, ). Inflation may or may not happen which depends more on what the government spent on. If it spent it on something that improves productivity (like improving infrastructure, security, education, etc), then potentially the overall effect is not inflationary. However, if the spending is wasteful and not contributing to productivity increases in anyway, then its quite possibly inflationary. Productivity is also an input to inflation which is also changing in the background. For example, population increase means more competition of jobs which is deflationary in the price of wages.

Money is a tool to drive the economy. You work to earn money to pay your taxes. MMT is how the system works. The biggest problem is when the government wastes money and it gets hoarded by the 1%. Spending needs to be done responsibly.

Presently the so called GDP increase measured in Rubles in the Russian economy is being presented in way that parallels this broken window fallacy. It is the stated belief of Putin that the economy is booming based on his incorrect reading of the situation when up to 30% of production is being fed to his war machine and results in destruction.
@JoshiiiiBlue4 күн бұрын
Please re-do this video with someone who actually knows what MMT is. I want to watch a good debate to understand both sides, but these strawman arguments just poison the discussion. You could for example have a deep dive between a MMTer and a non-MMTer on Inflation for example to really understand what the problem is

Prof Davies is a neo-classical economist who belives that marginal costs increase the more you produce. He also believes that the government will crowd out the private sector. that somehow we're choosing bridges over avacados. His argument falls flat. try again.

Wow. There’s a distinct difference between you and me regarding the reading, understanding and interpretation of what was written. The blame isn’t that this amendment isn’t clear or succinct. It is that we are uneducated. The American educational system has been dumbed down to the point that I would argue many can’t even read the Preamble and grasps its meaning; not to mention the rest of the Constitution.

I hate to break it to you, but human nature is _not_ caring about yourself and your bottom line. Human nature is working for the benefit of each other, further backed up by the existence of mutual aid and charities. Without these traits we would've never survived during the stone age. There's a reason we're social creatures. we work together. not on our own.

I disagree, I think the 2nd ammendment was very well done and very intentional in it's writting. "A well regulated militia", Mason said "The whole people" are the militia. "Being necessary for the security of a free state", It's our responsibility to maintain our freedoms through hopefully, more diplomatic means, but should diplomacy fail, violence is an acceptable alternative. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed", that's pretty straightforward, and it is the only right that plainly says "Shall not be infringed" The problem is there are to many people who think that our rights are up for interpretation. When it is written plainly Please forgive me if I'm a little skeptical of the interpretation of the 2nd ammendment by the people who also don't think we should have the 1st.

Are you sure bout that - do some more research- so you don’t think making illegal to trade has anything to do about economic prosperity. It’s not trading with Usa and it’s United nation and it’s all the allies and other countries and nations under European/ colonial rule - which is many countries. You have idea what your talking about ma boy! Go read real books and do real research.

well... the only thing I see is that nazis and fascists wants to censor and ban books. To censor censorship isn't censorship is it ? Besides it's not even censored. You hear and read more fascists things on every media, than you hear words of Lucy Parsons. So who's in charge and censoring here ? I believe the fascists are already censoring and banning.

It was not only Cherokee on the Trail of Tears.... I know the truth because 4 young Chief's children escaped the Trail of Tears. One did not survive the long journey. The survivors were one Cherokee, one Navajo, one Lakota Nakota Dakota, who was Chief Sitting Bull. Chief Sitting Bull's actual death was 1965, from old age. His mother died a few years earlier. If you don't know the above, you need to listen more to your elders. I am Lily Tatanka.

There's some serious issues to the arguments here, Especially #6. Fairness isn't about redistribution. Using this effective rate (calculated with dubious federal transfer amounts) doesn't take into account the real role of government spending, which is improving society for all of us. A salary isn't a measure of value generated based on your labor and the wealth generated by ownership often comes from the work of others.
