Almost bought this car off ebay. Wanted to much $$. I have a 52 with a 53 Merc flathead, and a 55 that I built as a 60s gasser straight front axle and fenders. worked 351 C - Aluminum Heads and intake = 4sp=9" ford 410 gears. All Ford, i hate when these guys build these cars a they all Chevys in them. Then they bitch that they can't tune it right or they keep breaking distributor caps because the hit the firewall.. Ford and Mopar are front distributor makes it easier.

NO... they are sweet stock when they run like a watch, and you can barley hear them idling.

Sweetest? Nope. Sounds fantastic but a little louder and raspy than I like. I think there is nothing sweeter sounding than a flathead with a deep, low rumble. Cherry bombs with a full length, all the way to the back, pipes.

I remember watching the race from my grandparents place, they use to own the corner shop and the house behind it across from the senior college. Also that was my black Honda CR-V in the driveway on the first corner.

Our guide John doesn’t know about the horsepower gained through carburettor fuel delivery before the supercharger resulting in a colder, less detonation prone and denser fuel-air charge entering the cylinders and he might actually look at the ailerons on that MkVIII which are shortened (time 0:22) for increased roll. All post VIII Spitfires had the shorter ailerons, earlier (which includes IX and XVIs) Spitfire ailerons went out to the wingtip joint.

The first time I read Bill Bryson's book it was 2000 and the idea of being able to look up something on the other side of the world on the internet in seconds would have seemed absolutely crazy. Now we can see anything he talks about in a moment

Why did we have flxible clippers in Australia, when they were American busses? I remember seeing just the back of one while in the car a few years ago when it was driving through my local town and we called it a "clipper bus". When I was looking up stuff about the Ghostbusters Ectomobile, I also started looking up stuff about "professional cars" and there were people talking about a "flxible-buick hearse/ambulance" and some time later I was like "hang on isn't this the same brand/coach builder as that clipper bus I saw driving through my town a few years ago? Looked it up and I was right, they were built by the same company. I thought that clipper I saw would of been imported by a classic vehicle person and was never in use in Australia at the time when "flxing your buick or your bus" was a thing. But I am wrong! But they would of been pretty uncommon here, but I guess it also proves that were were *NOT* as "all Australian made" in those times, as what we thought we were....🤔
