My last job did the opposite. Continuously add on to our workload, implement a hiring/temp agency freeze, watch a load of people leave (increasing our own workload further), my department had to function without a manager for over a year because "You've proven you can work without one". Then they fixed the issues by hiring a bunch of african temps who could barely speak English and struggled with basic work like picking up four small boxes and placing them on a pallet. Just couldn't think it through.

Fun tip, if you work a cubicle job ask for a copy of the hr handbook policy and put it sonewhere on your desk where it stands out. Will keep people less engaged with you but also most people wont try and pull petty shit

Large trucking companies are masters at manipulating employee salary's. They'll give you a raise but give you extra days off mixed with lower amount of loads. Or offer vacation days. If they're so big they can't fail They'll toss 30yr experience drivers out the window like they're nothing. Then when the rush comes hire a bunch of clueless people that may stick with them for 6mon but by then they'll have profited off their load haul over the expense it takes to keep the new driver.

If people wanna be exotic, and crazy with their names at least put some real effort, and art into it. Like astaroth, or sigfride Name em after some greek, or egyptian gods, or some actually well named anime/fictional characters . It would be pretty cool to have a Riza walking around, or an anubis. Theres plenty of exotic, and not normal names from fiction, and mythoĺogy that while they might raise some eyebrows, still sound artful, and like some actual thought was put in. Like damn.

I am actually thankful that it is literally forbidden by law in my country to name a person something stupid. Who could have guessed that would be a law that ever could be necessary? The legislation says the name must not be to the detriment of the child (aka can not be something offensive or ridiculous), name combinations as one name are allowed but can consist of no more than two names connected by a "-" e.g. John-Andrew would be ok as a first name. Multiple first names can be combined as well so e.g. "John-Andrew Thomas" would be fine but "Paprika-Tuna Karen" or "Kaa´ruh-N S0nsh1ne" would not. Names that are against the rules or are deemed detrimental for the child, will be rejected and simply can not be registered. So little "Spahetti Bolign´uuus T0m-Atuuuu-Suuseé" will be given a break and end up as Jenny for her own good until her mother sobers up and/or finds her two brian cells again. Never thought I would cheer, what I always saw as a ridiculous and unnecessary overregulation.

My manger had to tell upper management at our job that if they didn’t quit harassing and blaming our department for everything that all 6 of us would walk out. Not sure why but for some reason work has slowed back and we are all getting a pay raise…

This is so true to me only based on a statistic i saw in the news ik ik bare with me here but apparently people who switch jobs lets say every 2 to 3 years make SIGNIFICANTLY more money than those who stay with the same company their whole career source trust me bro 😂 but im sure its true because some of the fast food places my family has worked for have hired on no experience people for more or slightly less than they were making after multiple raises 😂
