There's also managers that just don't think you're doing good enough... despite the work still always getting done. I have one of those. Literally every other manager I've ever worked under was happy with my work. Funny part is the department actually ran better when she was on 6 months sick leave (broken bone). Now I'm looking for work and am now concerned that whenever I put down the place I've been working at for the past 3 years, they're gonna look at that..... wonderful person's reports simply because she's the most recent.

@@imperialofficerremusblackw8452 Something that sucks too honestly is for managers that are expected to always tell people to do better. I currently work as a manager and I get told by corporate that everyone needs to work harder and that I don’t yell at people enough. Of course this isn’t always the case but I have worked with people that hate working under the other managers because I’m the only one that is chill and I keep being told that I need to be tougher on the employees, they aren’t going to fire me because we are severely understaffed on managers. I hate how managers are being made out to be terrible people often because corporate wants them too, there are just managers that are strict cause that’s the way they do it but personally a decent amount of managers feel like assholes because they have to be one for corporate to not be angry at them. At the end of the day I blame corporate, they are always too strict on things that they don’t understand at all and they will have someone be the bad person to enforce their high standards for their underpaid workers. I even know another manager that refuses to get to know any of the workers because they don’t want to lose a friendship due to being strict.

Every recruiter I’ve ever had to deal with, with the exception of some government work that requires a more extensive background check, lets you pick and choose who your references are. Employers also rarely tell anything more than confirming that you worked at a place between the dates that you said on your application.
@bluelightstudios6191Ай бұрын
Now, just letting everyone know, this is a TERRIBLE idea to do to your employer. Not only will you likely NEVER get a job there again, any company you apply to, even if you don't reference them. They'll still get in contact with to ask how good of a worker their potential new hire was, and if they give an unnapealing response, then most likely, you won't be hired. This applies to ALL jobs you get in the future, so even if you already have a new job, you will struggle to get one in the future and they'll record how well you were in theprevious company so don't think they'll forget that you simply walked out with no notice over time. It's also just a dick move to the manager who has to mot only so more work to get an imediate replacement since they haven't the time to have teained someone to replace you and not only does the manager get pressured by higher ups when you can see from the video that being a manager is already a demanding job as it is. But your colleagues will have to do your job likely to make up for the vacant space in productivity
@AlexN5597Ай бұрын
Usually I'd say that's true, but I worked at a true hell hole for years. I just told my new employers in the interview what kind of management ran the last place I worked at and why I had to leave so suddenly. They made sure to tell me that it wasn't like that here and they hired me without contacting my last employer 🤷 It really just depends on how bad the work environment is and if you can portray that to your next prospective employer. But I'd say 8 times out of 10, yes, just stick it out for at least one or two weeks before leaving.
