are you using Auto ISO? mine wants to crank it to 10k almost in photos not even this dark. with a 1/60 shutter speed.

Nah full manual usually - if you like using auto ISO you can just put in the limiters to prevent it going above a certain level

I was thinking about getting this Tamron 70-300. What do you think of its image quality compared to the 17-70?
@JimmyShixin9 күн бұрын
Yea it’s good, similar image quality but if you’re specifically worried about things like sharpness or consider yourself a so-called “Pixel Peeper” then make sure to watch some detailed reviews on the lens that focus more on image quality e.g. Arthur R Though I will say that if the images in this vid were good enough for you there is your answer ;)

@JimmyShixin29 күн бұрын
Hmmm the high aperture may mean that you can’t use super fast shutter speeds, especially when lighting isn’t the best. That means you may struggle to have a fast enough shutter speed to “freeze” the motion of fast moving athletes. Ideally you have a telephoto with F2.8 fixed aperture but that’s gna be $$$

Do you prefer the Tamron over the sigma 18-50?
@JimmyShixinАй бұрын
Yes because I love zooming, I compare them in my Tamron 17-70 review video I like the extra 20mm a LOT and am willing to pay the extra money for it. Especially as it becomes 24-105mm after the 1.5x crop factor for APSC

I’m thinking of getting the A6700 and this lens for street and also for portraits. How is this lens for portraits? I also shoot Fuji but want to hop into Sony. Great work!!!!
@JimmyShixinАй бұрын
I personally don’t use it much for portraits because I have my sigma 30 & 56mm F1.4 lenses for that purpose - the Tamron is certainly usable for portraits but not ideal due to F2.8 minimum aperture. Especially in low light it can struggle

lol I should do a vid on this alone tbf - this varies a LOT depending on the niche of events but the general gist is: do some gigs for free, get your name out, network as hard as you possibly can and aggressively cold call people or ask everyone you know if they need a photographer

That was a video with many interesting impressions. Apart from the good photos - I especially like the one that you used for the thumbnail - it was cool to see a bit from the chinese country-/mountainside.
