I'm unsure how to ask this, but, what determines which fret you put your first finger on ? On various videos, I've seen only the first four frets being used, and, am wondering when you would ever use the frets which are closer to where you are strumming your ukulele - or for that matter, your guitar. Is it that the placement of your fingers would remain the same all up and down the neck of your Ukulele or Guitar, just being different for each note ? I'm a beginner, so, if anyone answers my questions, please be nice. Thank you. 👍😉

and it doesn't matter that he messed up the lyrics completely... mixing different verses - it's the FEELING that shines through 👍

Good technical analysis but you forgot to mention the main reason the song was a hit. It came from IZ’s soul, and it was beautiful.

It’s obviously incredible, so now tell me why they buried it for five years? Also Is was compelled to get out of bed at three in the morning record, but he wasn’t compelled enough to try to get the recording out there?

He was an adequate Uke player, but the lyrics he sang to 'over the rainbow' were absolute nonsense.

Just one instrument and sing is hard enough to pull off to one person playing, incredible , evangelical voice , to take a 1939 song and make it an international hit is again just incredible , Ive heard this song in movies before I even new who he was , a real Hawaiian and an American legend , to give him a state funeral was not even worthy of what empact he had on the world , God bless him , I hope his family is still getting royalties from his songs .38 is too young to die .

Okay but is is so bad to just use your thumb for D major
@astrojello688215 күн бұрын
Same for d7 just thumb and ring baby
@UkuleleTricks13 күн бұрын
This is an option! For this, it depends on the chord that comes before or after in a given progression. Sometimes wrapping the thumb can make it harder to change to the next chord! In certain cases, it's better to play the chord the suggested way to "set up" or make the following chord easier to change.

I am just learning the ukulele at age 68, and it is so much fun. However, my hands do not move very fast in the chord changes, but I like how you keep a steady pace and just keep going. You are easy to listen to and your lessons are engaging. Thank you.
